Barcelona put on an exceptional performance on their away visit to Valencia for the fourth matchday of the 2026/27 Spanish La Liga. The Blaugrana secured a dominant 5-0 victory at the Mestalla Stadium on Sunday, 6 September 2026.

Lamine Yamal was the centre of attention during Barcelona's goal spree. The young talent netted two goals, while the remaining three strikes were scored by Fermin Lopez, Raphinha, and Pedri respectively.

This result further solidifies Barcelona's position at the top of the provisional La Liga Standings. The Catalan side have now collected 12 points from four matches, maintaining a perfect record with zero dropped points so far.

In contrast, Valencia find themselves in a difficult position. This heavy home defeat has left them rooted to the bottom of the table with just one point from four fixtures, as reported on La Liga's official website.

Barcelona immediately asserted their dominance from kick-off. The constant pressure built by the Blaugrana paid off as the match reached the sixth minute.

Yamal was the player who opened the scoring for Barcelona. Receiving a floated cross from Fermin Lopez, the Spanish international winger found space inside the Valencia penalty area.

Yamal converted the opportunity with a trivela shot that left Stole Dimitrievski with no chance to react. Barcelona took a 1-0 lead.

The away side continued their domination. In the 22nd minute, Barcelona doubled their advantage through Fermin Lopez.

Anthony Gordon provided the assist for this attack, playing a pass that Fermin met with a first-time strike which flew straight into the Valencia goal.

Barcelona came close to extending their lead before half time. In the 39th minute, Fermin Lopez once again threatened after driving into the penalty box.

He fired an effort towards goal, only for Dimitrievski to pull off a save. The deflected ball then struck the goalpost.

No further goals were scored before the end of the first half, sending Barcelona into the dressing room with a two goal lead.

After the interval, Barcelona did not ease off their attacking pressure. The Blaugrana side maintained their aggressive approach and scored their third goal in the 49th minute.

Raphinha was the goalscorer, positioning himself perfectly to meet Fermin Lopez's cutback pass. The Brazilian forward finished the chance with a simple tap-in at the far post, taking the score to 3-0.

Valencia struggled increasingly to break free from Barcelona's pressure. The Blaugrana retained full control of the match and added another goal in the 78th minute.

Pedri showcased his quality with a neat one-two combination with Dani Olmo. Once he found space, the Barcelona midfielder unleashed a shot that once again beat the Valencia Goalkeeper.

The score became 4-0.

Barcelona's goal rush was not over. Yamal found the back of the net once more just six minutes later.

In the 84th minute, the 19-year-old received a through ball from Dani Olmo. Showing great composure, Yamal rounded Dimitrievski to score his second goal of the match.

Yamal's brace completed Barcelona's five goal haul for the game.

Until the final whistle, Valencia failed to mount any meaningful response. Barcelona left the Mestalla with a convincing 5-0 victory.

This additional three points keeps Barcelona's perfect record intact after four matches of the 2026/27 La Liga season. The club now sits comfortably at the top of the standings on 12 points.
