Persib Bandung continues to maximise the remaining preparation time ahead of facing Manila Digger in the AFC Champions League (ACL) 2 Qualification Play-off round.

This match is scheduled to be held at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, on Monday, 31 August 2026.

Persib Bandung head coach Igor Tolic stated he is fairly satisfied with the physical condition progress of his players. He assessed that the majority of the Maung Bandung squad are in good enough shape to face this crucial fixture.

"Right now, we have an eight-day pre-season window before 31 August. All players have been training together, except for the injured players that I do not expect will be fit in time for the match," Igor explained.

During the training session held at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) Auxiliary Field, Bandung on Saturday, two Persib players still had not joined full group training.

Febri Hariyadi and Gakuto Notsuda were seen carrying out separate individual training programmes. Both players remain in the recovery stage from their sustained injuries.

This situation has become a focus of attention for Igor Tolic. Even so, the Croatian head coach is working to find the best tactical formula so that Persib can still perform at maximum capacity when facing Manila Digger.

"That is fine. We of course must find solutions for this issue ahead of the match, keep all players fit, and be able to fight together on the 31st of August," Igor stated.

Berguinho Returns To Training

Amidst the player injury issues, Persib received positive news from Brazilian midfielder Rosembergne Da Silva, who is popularly known as Berguinho.

Berguinho had previously been undergoing recovery after suffering an injury while competing in the 2026 President's Cup. His condition has now shown improved progress.

During Saturday's training session, Berguinho joined full training alongside his teammates for the first time. His return is certainly a positive development for Persib ahead of the ACL 2 play-off match.

Even though he has returned to team training, Igor Tolic has not yet confirmed whether Berguinho will be immediately fielded against Manila Digger.

The Persib head coach will continue monitoring the player's condition over the coming days before making a final decision.

"He [Berguinho] got injured at the President's Cup, and today was his first time training with the full squad. But we will just observe how his situation develops over the next 3-4 days," Tolic concluded.

Persib still has time to finalise their strategy while monitoring all player conditions ahead of the match. The fixture against Manila Digger is a critical moment for Maung Bandung to continue their campaign in the Asian inter-club competition.
