Jakarta - Aston Villa are reported to have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Nicolas Jackson. The Senegalese striker is set to be acquired for a transfer value of 65 million pounds sterling, equivalent to approximately IDR 1.5 trillion.

According to The Athletic report, Aston Villa will pay 47.5 million pounds or around IDR 1.1 trillion as Jackson's base transfer fee. The remaining 17.5 million pounds, valued at roughly IDR 421.5 billion, will be issued as bonus and add-on payments as agreed by both clubs.

Jackson has already approved his move to Villa. The 25-year-old player's transfer is only pending medical examination procedures and official contract signing.

Jackson Transfer Will Not Disrupt Morgan Rogers Sale Accounting

This transfer has drawn public attention as it takes place shortly after Chelsea completed the signing of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for a 117 million pounds transfer fee, equal to around IDR 2.8 trillion.

This timeline initially raised speculation whether both transactions would be classified as a player swap deal. UEFA has formal regulations governing transactions completed within a 45-day period in the same transfer window.

If a transfer is deemed an integrated player exchange, full profit from a player sale cannot be fully recognised on club financial statements.

This scenario would have created compliance issues for Aston Villa, who are bound to strictly adhere to European football financial regulations.

However, Jackson's transfer is confirmed not to fall under this swap classification. This means his move from Chelsea to Villa will not interfere with the official financial recording of Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers sale.

In effect, Aston Villa may fully book the Rogers transfer transaction under applicable rules, without Jackson's transfer being counted as part of an exchange agreement.

Jackson Reunites With Unai Emery

This move to Aston Villa will see Nicolas Jackson reunited with Unai Emery. The pair previously worked together during their tenure at Villarreal.

Jackson showed consistent positive development under Emery's coaching, recording 13 goals during that period.

Aston Villa expects this existing working history will help the striker adapt faster to the team's tactical system.

Jackson's arrival also provides additional attacking depth for Villa, especially following the departure of Morgan Rogers to Chelsea.

Jackson Had Fallen Out Of Favour At Chelsea

Jackson's future at Chelsea had become uncertain since last season. He was previously loaned to Bayern Munich, but the German club declined to activate the permanent purchase option.

After returning to Stamford Bridge, Jackson still received playing opportunities under head coach Xabi Alonso, and was included in Chelsea's pre-season tour squad.

Jackson originally joined Chelsea back in 2023. During his spell with The Blues, he scored 30 goals from 81 appearances across all competitions.

He was also part of the Chelsea squad that won the 2024/2025 Conference League trophy and 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Jackson's time at Stamford Bridge is now expected to conclude imminently, with Aston Villa confirmed as his next destination, as Unai Emery prepares to work once again with the striker he first developed at Villarreal.
