Chelsea put on an impressive performance when hosting Bournemouth during the sixth matchweek of the English Premier League. Playing at Stamford Bridge, London on Saturday 10 October 2026 local time, The Blues secured a dominant 5-1 victory after taking full control of the match.
Jordan Henderson and Joao Pedro were the stars of Chelsea's win, notching two goals each. The remaining goal was contributed by Morgan Rogers, while Bournemouth only managed to pull one back through Evanilson.
This three-point haul lifts Chelsea to 5th place in the provisional Premier League Standings, with 10 points collected from six matches. In contrast, Bournemouth remains stuck in 17th position with just 3 points.

Chelsea seized control of the game immediately from kickoff. Just two minutes into the fixture, Jordan Henderson opened the scoring for the hosts after finishing off a pass from Cole Palmer. This early strike put Chelsea 1-0 ahead.
Chelsea continued their relentless pressure, leaving Bournemouth almost no space to build any attacking play. Only one minute later, Morgan Rogers doubled the advantage to 2-0 with a clinical finish from Henderson's through ball.
Bournemouth attempted to rally by increasing their attacking intensity. Rayan threatened with a powerful strike, but his effort was denied cleanly by Chelsea Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.
The Argentine shot-stopper once again showed outstanding reflexes to parry away a rebound attempt from Ryan Christie. Right before half-time, Bournemouth created another good chance with Antonio Silva's header, but Martinez remained unbeatable between the posts.
Chelsea did not ease off the pressure after the break. Just one minute into the second half, Joao Pedro extended the lead to 3-0 in the 46th minute, converting a perfectly weighted pass from Pedro Neto.
Bournemouth finally found their consolation goal in the 51st minute. Evanilson broke through Chelsea's defence to make the score 1-3, handing the away side a faint glimmer of hope to fight back.
However, Chelsea quickly killed off any potential comeback. In the 67th minute, Joao Pedro grabbed his second goal of the night after finishing a pass from Pep Chavarria, stretching Chelsea's lead to 4-1.
Three minutes later, Henderson completed his own brace. The midfielder's perfectly executed free kick beat the Bournemouth goalkeeper in the 70th minute, making the score 5-1.
With this four-goal cushion, Chelsea comfortably controlled the rest of the match. Bournemouth could not close the gap in the remaining time, as the hosts held their lead comfortably until the final whistle.
This 5-1 win is a critical result for Chelsea in the Premier League title race. Alongside securing all three points, The Blues have improved their league standing, while Bournemouth will need to regroup quickly after suffering this heavy defeat.
