Roma Take An Early Lead, Mbappe Equalises
Roma took attacking initiative right from kickoff. In the 5th minute, Mario Hermoso unleashed a curling strike which was parried away by Real Madrid Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
The home side maintained their pressure nine minutes later. Paulo Dybala created a goalscoring opportunity, but his effort drifted wide off the left post.
Roma broke the deadlock in the 20th minute. Running onto a through ball from Matias Soule, Marten de Roon finished cleanly to put the hosts 1-0 ahead.
Madrid responded quickly. Five minutes later, Kylian Mbappe received a pass from Yan Diomande before firing a shot that deflected off Gianluca Mancini. The change of direction wrong-footed goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini, bringing the score to 1-1.
Los Blancos pushed to turn the match around. In the 31st minute, an attempt from Marc Cucurella flew wide of the left goalpost.
Both sides continued to probe for openings as the first half drew to a close, but the 1-1 deadlock remained at the halftime break.
Malen Double Puts Roma 3-1 Ahead
Roma returned from the interval with aggressive intent. In the 51st minute, Donyell Malen converted a through ball from Rodrigo Mora to extend the home side's lead to 2-1.
Six minutes later, Malen struck once again to punish Madrid's defence. This time he latched onto another through ball from Matias Soule before beating Courtois, pulling Roma clear with a 3-1 advantage.
Madrid fought desperately to avoid defeat. Mbappe had a goal ruled out for offside by referee Francois Letexier in the 67th minute.
Three Late Goals Complete Madrid Comeback Win
Madrid finally found their resurgence momentum in the final seven minutes of regular time. In the 83rd minute, Endrick's header sparked chaos inside the Roma penalty area.
Carlos Espi reacted first to the loose ball, firing home to cut the deficit to 2-3.
Two minutes later, Madrid breached Roma's defence once again. From Arda Guler's corner delivery, Endrick rose to send a header that Gollini could not stop.
The score became 3-3, and full momentum of the match shifted firmly to the away side.
Roma, who had looked moments away from victory, were now pinned back under heavy pressure. Madrid pushed for the winning goal, while the hosts desperately tried to hold on for a draw.
The match reached its dramatic climax in the 90th minute. Guler sent another dangerous corner into the box, and Rudiger won the aerial duel to head the ball past the Roma goalkeeper.
This goal put Madrid 4-3 ahead, completing an extraordinary comeback at the Stadio Olimpico.
