Persija Jakarta finally suffered their first defeat of the 2026/2027 Super League season. Playing away at Persita Tangerang's home ground Banten International Stadium on Saturday evening, 17 October, the Macan Kemayoran fell 2-3 after Aleksa Andrejic's injury time goal sealed a dramatic victory for the home side.

Persita took the lead first, but Persija managed to equalise on two separate occasions. Just as the match looked set to finish 2-2, a lapse in concentration from the visiting backline allowed Pendekar Cisadane to snatch all three points.

This result underlines Persita's consistent form early in the season. After five matchweeks, they remain unbeaten, while Persija will be forced to review their defensive setup after failing to take any points from this fixture.

Luquinhas Opens The Scoring, Fabio Calonego Equalises

Persita applied immediate pressure right from kickoff. Before five minutes had elapsed, Luquinhas put the hosts ahead with a headed finish from Rayco Rodriguez's cross. This early goal boosted the home side's confidence in front of their own supporters.

Persija responded by ramping up their attacking intensity. Shin Tae-yong's side did not only create chances, they also found an equaliser in the 18th minute.

A poor clearance from Javlon Guseynov inside Persita's defensive area was punished by Fabio Calonego. The Persija midfielder latched onto the loose ball inside the penalty box to level the score at 1-1.

After the equaliser, the match opened up. Both sides took turns pressing forward and probing for weaknesses in the opposition defence. Luquinhas almost restored Persita's lead in the 38th minute, but his effort drifted wide of the target.

Persija also created a chance just before half time. Rizky Ridho got on the end of an opening in the 41st minute, but his shot was safely gathered by Persita goalkeeper Igor Rodrigues. The 1-1 scoreline remained until the end of the first half.

Rayco Rodriguez Restores Persita's Lead

The start of the second half was delayed by 30 minutes due to unsafe conditions reported around the stadium area. Once play resumed, Persija pushed forward aggressively looking for their second goal.

However, this attacking commitment from Macan Kemayoran left them exposed at the back. Persita worked a corner kick situation before Rayco Rodriguez fired a long range effort in the 61st minute. The ball found the back of Nadeo Argawinata's net, putting Persita back ahead 2-1.

This goal put Persija back into chasing position once again. The away side piled on the pressure in an attempt to avoid their first loss of the campaign.

Persija's efforts paid off when Rayhan Hannan was fouled by Dion Markx inside the penalty box following a driving run. Referee Rio Permana Putra immediately pointed to the spot.

The decision was reviewed via VAR, but the official upheld the penalty call. Alexander Jeremejeff converted the spot kick perfectly, beating Igor Rodrigues in the 74th minute.

The score was once again level at 2-2. Persija had a chance to salvage the match result, while Persita needed one more goal to preserve their unbeaten record.

Aleksa Andrejic Crushes Persija's Hopes

As the match entered stoppage time, Persija lost concentration at the back. A defensive error allowed Hokky Caraka to break free with the ball and launch a counter attack.

Hokky laid off a pass to Aleksa Andrejic. Making no mistake with the opportunity, Andrejic finished cleanly to score in the 6th minute of stoppage time.

The score moved to 3-2, and this result stood until the final whistle was blown.

For Persija, this last-gasp goal was a devastating blow, having fought back from behind twice during the match.

Conversely, this victory keeps Pendekar Cisadane's unbeaten run intact after five matchweeks, while also bringing an end to Persija's winning streak in the 2026/2027 Super League.
