Indonesia National Futsal Team have exited the 2026 Copa das Nacoes de Futsal without recording a single victory. Garuda Squad suffered a 1-2 defeat against Peru in the 5th place playoff match, held at Max Ronsenmann Arena, Sao Jose dos Pinhais, Parana, Brazil on Saturday, 17 October 2026.

During the match, Peru struck first with two goals scored by Usquiano and Juarez. Indonesia managed to narrow the deficit through Yogi Saputra, but failed to find an equaliser before the final whistle blew.

This result confirmed Indonesia finished the tournament with three losses from three matches. Previously, Indonesia fell 0-3 to Brazil in the opening fixture on Thursday 15 October, before suffering another 0-2 defeat against Cape Verde on Friday 16 October 2026.

Peru Took Early Control, Indonesia Failed To Convert Created Chances

Peru opened the scoring when Usquiano finished off a pass from Goalkeeper Jesus Herrera. The number 3 player converted the close range opportunity after slipping between Indonesian goalkeeper Ahmad Habiebie and Rio Pangestu to put Peru 1-0 ahead.

Indonesia attempted to respond by ramping up their attacking intensity. Garuda Squad created multiple scoring chances, but none resulted in a goal.

Yogi Saputra had an opening from a Free kick. Another chance fell to Samuel Eko, who struck a low shot towards an unguarded Peru goal only for the ball to hit the post.

These wasted opportunities left Indonesia unable to alter the scoreline. Instead, Peru extended their lead to 2-0 shortly after.

Peru's second goal originated from a long ball by Jesus Herrera played to the far post. Juarez, positioned directly in front of Indonesia's goal, made no mistake with the chance to pull further away.

Yogi Saputra's Consolation Goal Could Not Save Indonesia

Indonesia finally pulled one back through Yogi Saputra. The goal came as Yogi met a corner kick delivered by Rizki Xavier, bringing the score to 1-2.

This goal kept Indonesia's hopes alive for an equaliser for the remaining match time. However, all further attempts by Garuda Squad to level the score came up empty.

The 2-1 scoreline held until full time. This result secured 5th place for Peru, while the Indonesia National Futsal Team confirmed their exit from the 2026 Copa das Nacoes de Futsal with three straight defeats.
