Serang - Persita Tangerang ended Persija Jakarta's perfect winning run with a dramatic 3-2 victory in the fifth week of the BRI Super League 2026/2027, held at Banten International Stadium, Serang, Banten on Saturday (17/10/2026).

Aleksa Andrejic's 90+5th minute goal secured the home side's win, while also bringing an end to Macan Kemayoran's four consecutive victories.

The ITSMe team, accompanied by reporter Syafira, attended the stadium directly to cover this fixture between the two top league sides.

Persita Takes The Lead, Persija Responds

Persita immediately shocked the visiting team just five minutes into the match. Luquinhas met Rayco Rodriguez's delivery with a headed finish to put the home side 1-0 ahead.

Persija responded by ramping up attacking pressure. This effort paid off in the 18th minute, as Fabio Calonego converted a loose ball inside the penalty area to level the score at 1-1.

Both sides continued searching for openings until the first half concluded. The scores remained level going into the break, despite Persija's attempts to take full control of the match.

The half-time interval was disrupted by an alleged incident involving supporters. This caused the second half kick-off to be delayed by approximately 30 minutes before play resumed.

Rayco & Andrejic Prove Decisive

As the second half commenced, Persita once again displayed their clinical finishing. In the 61st minute, Rayco Rodriguez struck a right-footed shot after receiving a pass from Pablo Ganet, this goal put Persita back ahead 2-1.

Persija did not give up. An equalising opportunity arrived when Rayhan Hannan was fouled inside the penalty box. Referee Rio Permana Putra awarded the penalty after confirming the decision via VAR.

Alexander Jeremejeff successfully converted the penalty in the 74th minute. The score returned to 2-2, raising tension levels even further for the remainder of the match.

Just as the fixture appeared set to end level, Persita launched their decisive attack. In the 90+5th minute, Hokky Caraka played a pass to an unmarked Aleksa Andrejic directly in front of goal. Andrejic converted the chance cleanly for the winning goal.

Persita confirmed their 3-2 victory, while Persija departed the stadium without any competition points.

Persija Dominance Fails To Deliver Victory

Official match statistics show Persija held 76% ball possession and registered 21 total shots, far exceeding Persita's 8 attempts. Persija also recorded 10 shots on target, compared to only 5 for Persita.

These figures demonstrate the scale of pressure Persija applied throughout the match, however territorial dominance does not automatically guarantee victory. Persija failed to convert their created chances, and were heavily punished for defensive lapses during counter attacks.

For Shin Tae-yong, this defeat provides evaluation material to improve attacking finishing, defensive transition play, and maintaining full concentration right through until the final whistle.

Persita Maintain Unbeaten Record

This win over Persija is a critical result for Persita, who preserve their unbeaten record across the opening five matches of the season with three victories and two draws. Meanwhile, Persija have suffered their first defeat of the campaign after starting the competition with four consecutive wins.
