The 2027 MotoGP Rider Lineup is beginning to take shape even before the 2026 season has concluded. All teams have now confirmed their two primary rider slots, setting up a series of major transfers that have the potential to reshape the competitive landscape in MotoGP's new era.

One of the most notable shakeups is at Ducati Lenovo. The Italian factory team has retained Marc Marquez and signed Pedro Acosta from Red Bull KTM. This pairing unites an experienced world champion with one of the most highly-touted young talents currently competing in MotoGP.

Acosta's arrival consequently forced Francesco "Pecco" Bagnaia to seek a new team. The two-time world champion has since joined Aprilia Racing, where he will partner Marco Bezzecchi.

Bagnaia's move has also had a knock-on effect on Jorge Martin's future. The rider nicknamed 'The Martinator' will join Yamaha Monster Energy for 2027, forming a lineup alongside former Trackhouse rider Ai Ogura.

Major changes have also occurred at Honda. Honda HRC has confirmed Diogo Moreira as Fabio Quartararo's teammate. The Brazilian rider's signing clears the way for Honda LCR to promote David Alonso up from Moto2.

Alonso will line up alongside Johann Zarco at Honda LCR. This lineup balances proven experience with young upcoming talent, positioning the squad to play a significant role in next season's championship battle.

2027 MotoGP Competitive Landscape

Ducati Lenovo will be built around Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta. The combination of these two riders is expected to make Ducati one of the main teams to watch heading into the new season.

Aprilia Racing has unveiled an all-new lineup of Bagnaia and Bezzecchi. Bagnaia brings two world championship titles worth of top-level experience, while Bezzecchi will partner him to boost the Italian factory squad's competitive performance.

Yamaha Monster Energy will field Jorge Martin and Ai Ogura. This move marks a new career chapter for Martin, while Ogura earns his opportunity with the factory Yamaha works team.

Red Bull KTM has also revised its rider roster. Alex Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio will be the team's two primary riders for the 2027 season.

Trackhouse MotoGP will be represented by Raul Fernandez and Enea Bastianini. Meanwhile, Gresini Racing has finalised Daniel Holgado and Joan Mir as their two primary riders.

Honda HRC will run Quartararo and Moreira, while Honda LCR pairs Johann Zarco with David Alonso. Over at Tech3, Luca Marini will be partnered by Senna Agius.

Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team have selected Fermin Aldeguer and Nicolo Bulega. For Prima Pramac, their 2027 lineup will consist of Toprak Razgatlioglu and Ivan Guevara.

With every team now having confirmed both their riders for 2027, focus now shifts to how each rider will adapt to their new teams and upcoming regulation changes.

Cross-team transfers, the blend of veteran champions and rising young talent, and the ongoing battle between factory manufacturers will be the core storylines building towards the upcoming season.
