Honda Team Asia rider Veda Ega Pratama faces a shift in the 2026 Moto3 championship Standings ahead of the Australian Grand Prix at the Phillip Island Circuit, 23-25 October. Veda lost four points after Adrian Fernandez's successful appeal altered the points allocation for multiple riders.

The young Indonesian rider had previously collected 115 points after finishing sixth at the 2026 Moto3 Mandalika round. However, updated championship tables show Veda's points total has now been reduced to 111.

The impact does not stop at the points count. Veda also dropped one position, falling from 7th to 8th in the provisional standings, right as he is working to improve his ranking over the final five races of the season.

This points deduction was not caused by Veda's own race results nor any violation committed by him. The change came as a consequence of points being reinstated for Leopard Racing rider Adrian Fernandez, after the FIM International Court of Appeal granted Fernandez's appeal against a six-race disqualification penalty.

Prior to the appeal ruling, Fernandez had lost 77 points due to that penalty. The Spanish rider's points tally had collapsed from 90 down to just 13, sending him plummeting to 14th position in the 2026 Moto3 standings.

After Fernandez's appeal was approved, all previously removed points were restored to his record. This 77-point reinstatement lifted him up to 5th position in the provisional standings once all affected race results were recalculated.

Fernandez's ranking shift then caused a reshuffle across all other rider standings. Veda was one of the riders impacted, losing four points and dropping one championship position ahead of the Australian round.

Despite this, Veda remains locked in a tight battle with Malaysian rider Hakim Danish. Veda now sits one position below Danish, with only nine points separating the pair in the standings.

This situation has heated up the rivalry between Veda and Danish at Moto3 Australia. A strong result at Phillip Island will help Veda close in on higher positions, while keeping alive his chances to improve his final season ranking.

With five races remaining, every single point will be critical for the Honda Team Asia rider.

If Veda can maximise his results in Australia, the standings reshuffle caused by Fernandez's appeal ruling will not derail his efforts to finish the season on a stronger position.
