Persebaya Surabaya has completed their training camp in Thailand. The Green Force squad has now entered the final preparation phase ahead of the 2026/2027 competitive season.
Aside from building up the players' physical condition, the coaching staff used this Thailand training camp to foster team cohesion and maintain match rhythm.
During the final training session, all players completed a controlled intensity programme covering physical conditioning, group play drills, and refining player execution of the team's core playing principles.

This series of training sessions marked the conclusion of the full 9-day programme held in Thailand. Persebaya also received the opportunity to face local teams in friendly matches to provide varied stimulus for the playing squad.
Training Methodology Remains Unchanged
Persebaya fitness coach Diogo Carvalho confirmed the training programme run in Thailand strictly followed the same methodology already implemented back in Surabaya.
"From a methodology standpoint, the programme here is not significantly different to what we run in Surabaya. We train under the same core principles, with consistent focus placed on injury prevention protocols," Diogo stated via Persebaya's official website.
The Portuguese coach explained the main differences lay in training volume and session frequency. The dense pre-season schedule required player training loads to be adjusted alongside the matches played throughout the camp.
"What did shift was overall training volume and the number of sessions. Back in Surabaya we only ran double sessions occasionally. During our time in Thailand, session frequency was much higher, as we also had far more pre-season matches scheduled during this camp," he added.
These adjustments were made to ensure steady fitness progress while still respecting the players' required recovery needs.
Players Respond Positively
Throughout the duration of the camp, Diogo observed the full squad engaged well with the programme designed by the coaching team.
"The players have really enjoyed the process here. They understand the purpose behind every part of the programme, and they have consistently given very positive responses to everything we have implemented," he explained.
Prior to this Thailand camp, Persebaya had already completed an extensive pre-season schedule. Most notably, the side played the full 120 minutes of the 2026 President's Cup final before being crowned champions.
Physical Condition As Persebaya's Core Foundation
Improved physical conditioning stands as one of the key outcomes from this overseas camp. Diogo assessed that the squad now holds an excellent baseline fitness level following their run of high-intensity matches.
"I have extremely high expectations for the squad's physical condition after returning from Thailand. This is especially true after we just won the President's Cup, including going the full 120 minutes in the final. That is clear proof this group already possesses very strong physical capacity," he concluded.
That said, the work for Green Force is not yet complete. Upon returning to Surabaya, the team will enter the final preparation stretch before official competitive fixtures get underway.
"My hope is that we can start the new season on the right foot. Every player will give their absolute best, and we will all work hard to make Bonek and Bonita proud," Diogo stated.
The next confirmed club event is the Persebaya Synergy Launching ceremony, to be held on Saturday 29 August at Surabaya City Hall.
Following this event, the full focus of the Green Bajol squad will turn entirely towards the upcoming new competitive season.
