Persija Jakarta has opened the Super League 2026/2027 season with a flawless start. They have already secured three consecutive victories, yet head coach of Macan Kemayoran, Shin Tae-yong, confirmed this impressive opening run has not satisfied him.
Persija beat Borneo FC 1-0 in their first Super League match, defeated Persib Bandung 2-1, then locked in another 1-0 win over Java United FC.
None of Persija's first three opponents are insignificant sides, as all three performed strongly in the previous season.

Persib will play all matches at Si Jalak Harupat throughout October, here are the three home fixtures for Maung Bandung.
Last season, Persib finished as champions, Borneo FC took runner-up position, while Java United FC — then operating under the name Malut United — ended the campaign in fourth place.
These results have positioned Persija as one of the teams to be reckoned with at the start of the season.
However, Shin refuses to let his squad become complacent over this streak of positive results. The South Korean Coach views the full season as a series of trials that must be faced one at a time.
Persija will face PSIM Yogyakarta on Saturday, 10 October 2026. This fixture will be the next challenge for the team currently riding strong positive momentum.
While securing victory always remains the target, Shin affirmed he feels no burdened pressure. For him, thorough preparation is the top priority before any match begins.
"There is absolutely no pressure at all. We will work to give our best just as we always do. I am still hungry," stated Shin Tae-yong via Persija's official channel.
This statement reflects Shin's focus on keeping Persija's squad mentality stable. Three wins have naturally built confidence, but he does not want his players to assume upcoming matches will be easy.
Shin reminded his team that every match has its own separate narrative. Past results can never be used as a guarantee for the next fixture.
"Football is unpredictable, we never know what situation will unfold at any moment. That is why the thing I always emphasise to the players is that we must deliver our best performance in every single match," he said.
For Shin, success is not measured only by the number of wins. There is also a responsibility to maintain playing quality while Putting on the best possible showing for the Jakmania supporters.
After coming through three tough opening matches, the next challenge is upholding this performance standard when facing opponents with different playing characteristics.
