England National Team delivered an outstanding performance against Croatia in the ongoing 2026/27 UEFA Nations League. Playing in Rijeka, Croatia on Saturday, 3 October 2026, the Three Lions secured a dominant 7-0 victory.
This result ranks as one of England's largest ever wins over Croatia. Conversely, this seven-goal shutout defeat stands among the worst competitive records for the side nicknamed Vatreni.
England's commanding display also extended their positive head-to-head trend against Croatia. The Three Lions have now gone unbeaten across their last five encounters with the nation, a run stretching back to the 2018 World Cup.

England's seven goals came courtesy of Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Anthony Gordon, Bukayo Saka, and Morgan Rogers. Kane and Saka emerged as the match's standout performers after both registered a brace.
The fixture was played behind closed doors. This restriction formed part of sanctions issued against Croatia following crowd disorder during their prior UEFA Nations League fixture against France.
England Start With Blistering Pace
England seized full control of the game immediately from kick-off. Anthony Gordon created the first major threat after breaking in behind the Croatian defensive line.
His left-footed strike was initially kept out by Dominik Livakovic, but England's relentless pressure finally broke through in the 8th minute.
Harry Kane opened the scoring after running onto a through ball from Jude Bellingham. The England captain converted the chance with a clinical finish that Livakovic could not stop.
England doubled their advantage in the 21st minute. The move originated with Bukayo Saka advancing down the right wing, before playing a low dangerous cross into the penalty area.
Perfectly positioned inside the box, Bellingham met the delivery to fire home and make the score 2-0.
England's dominance became increasingly unassailable. Gordon added his name to the scoresheet in the 39th minute.
The forward directed a well-placed header from Jarell Quansah's cross into the far corner of the net, leaving Livakovic once again unable to prevent the goal.
Right before the half-time break, England struck once more. Saka converted his opportunity in the 45th minute, sending the visitors into the dressing room with a commanding 4-0 lead.
Kane And Saka Deepen Croatia's Misery
England showed no signs of reducing their attacking intensity after the second half restarted.
Just seven minutes into the second period, Kane scored once again. The striker finished off a smooth team attacking combination after receiving a low cross from Elliot Anderson on the right flank.
This goal completed Kane's brace and extended England's lead to 5-0.
Croatia remained completely pinned back under constant pressure. England capitalised on this to net their sixth goal in the 68th minute.
A costly defensive error from Josip Stanisic inside his own half proved disastrous for the hosts. Saka pounced on the loose ball to score his second goal of the match.
The 6-0 scoreline further emphasised England's total control across the entire fixture.
The Three Lions still refused to ease off. Morgan Rogers rounded off England's goal feast in the 87th minute.
Rogers exploited a gap in the Croatian backline and successfully beat the offside trap. After rounding Goalkeeper Livakovic, he calmly slotted home the final goal to make the score 7-0.
No further goals were scored before the referee blew for full time.
England departed Rijeka with this spectacular 7-0 victory. This result not only consolidates their position in 2026/27 UEFA Nations League Group A3, but also extends their dominance over Croatia.
This win places England second in Group A3 with six points. They sit just one point behind Spain, who are scheduled to face the Czech Republic in the early hours of Sunday 4 October WIB.
Meanwhile Croatia remain third in the group with three points, while the Czech Republic sit bottom of the Standings with one point.
