Marc Marquez arrives at MotoGP Indonesia 2026 with high confidence after achieving a perfect result at the Japanese Grand Prix.
The Ducati Lenovo rider successfully secured victory in both the sprint race and the main Grand Prix event in Japan. This result became crucial capital ahead of the next series at Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, this Sunday.
Despite bringing positive form, Marc remains aware that the characteristics of Mandalika Circuit are not an easy track for him. Since MotoGP Indonesia returned to the championship calendar in 2022, the number 93 rider has never once managed to finish a main race at Mandalika.

There Are No Clear Favourite Riders In This Season's MotoGP World Championship Title Race.
For this reason, Marc is still waiting to see how competitive the Ducati can perform on this 4.3 kilometre circuit.
"Now let's see how my bike performs in Indonesia. But overall, ever since the race in Aragón, I have felt very comfortable with the condition of my motorcycle," stated Marc Marquez, quoted from the official Ducati Lenovo page on Monday.
The victory in Japan proves that Marc and Ducati are currently in excellent momentum. During that race, he managed to outperform both Aprilia Racing riders, Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi.
Alongside the main race victory, Marc also successfully won the sprint race. Overall, he brought home a total of 37 points from the Japanese race weekend.
This result carries even greater weight as the competition for the MotoGP World Championship title remains extremely tight.
"I am really happy with the 37 points we earned this weekend, because that was the main goal. This was a difficult race, especially the opening laps running behind Jorge (Martín)," Marc explained regarding his performance at the Japanese GP.
The victory in Japan also adds to Marc's impressive record at Misano Circuit. The Spanish rider is now recorded as the holder of the most race wins at the track, with a total of four victories.
On the other hand, competition in the MotoGP Standings is also growing more interesting. Marc currently sits in second position with 331 points.
He is only two points behind Jorge Martin, who still leads the provisional standings. This situation makes every remaining series extremely critical for Marc in his effort to defend his world championship title.
Carrying positive momentum from Japan, Marc now has the opportunity to improve his record at Mandalika. However, the challenge remains significant, as Mandalika Circuit has so far failed to deliver the expected results for the seven-time world champion.
