VILLENEUVE D'ASCQ - Calvin Verdonk received playing minutes as Lille defeated Le Havre 1-0 in the 6th matchweek of Ligue 1 2026/2027 at Decathlon Arena – Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Saturday (10/10/2026). The Indonesia National Team defender was brought on in the 73rd minute to replace Romain Perraud.
Lille secured the victory thanks to an early goal from Dilane Bakwa in the 5th minute. This result puts Lille on 13 points from six matches, remaining competitive at the top of the French League Standings.

John Herdman says the players are ready to give their absolute all in the final, adding that the final end result is something that lies outside of their control.
According to early match statistics published by Ligue 1, Verdonk recorded four successful passes in the opposition final third, two clearances, and two ball recoveries. All figures stated are sourced directly from the official initial match report.
Bakwa's Early Goal Proves The Difference
Lille immediately took attacking initiative right from kickoff. The home side's awaited goal arrived at the 5th minute through Dilane Bakwa.
Bakwa finished the chance after receiving a through ball from Tanguy Nianzou. This single goal would end up separating the two sides in a tight contest that lasted until the final whistle.
Le Havre attempted to mount a comeback but struggled to turn the match around. The away side's situation worsened when Ayumu Seko was shown a straight Red Card in the 61st minute.
Seko was dismissed after committing a foul against Hákon Haraldsson during a Lille attacking build-up. This decision forced Le Havre to play out the rest of the match with 10 players.
Lille tried to capitalise on their numerical advantage to extend their lead. One clear opportunity came from Nabil Bentaleb's 77th minute Free kick, which struck the top crossbar of the goal.
Lille also found the net via another Dilane Bakwa attack in the 80th minute. However the goal was disallowed after the referee ruled Bakwa was in an offside position during the build-up play.
Until the end of the match, Lille successfully maintained their 1-0 advantage.
Lille Trail Monaco At The Top Of The Standings
This victory brings Lille to 13 points from six matches. Lille briefly rose to the top of the league table temporarily immediately after beating Le Havre.
However AS Monaco reclaimed first position following their 2-2 Draw against Toulouse, bringing their total to 14 points. Lille now occupies second place, trailing by just one point.
Meanwhile Le Havre remains at the very bottom of the standings with only two points from six matches, based on updated league data following this match round.
For Calvin Verdonk, this playing opportunity in a winning match adds further game time during his spell at Lille. The Indonesian international defender is expected to continue competing for a larger role within the French club's squad.
