Prior to kickoff, Dewa United sat at the top of the provisional league table with 10 points collected from 4 matches. Persib meanwhile occupied 10th place with 6 points from 3 fixtures. Playing in front of their home crowd, Persib aimed to climb up the Standings while securing all three points.
Through their on-location coverage with Syafira, ITSMe followed the match atmosphere and conducted pre-match interviews with Bobotoh supporters before the game commenced.
Dewa United Builds Two-Goal Lead
Persib attempted to take attacking initiative right from kickoff. An 8th minute long-range effort from Adam Alis outside the penalty box was successfully kept out by Dewa United Goalkeeper Sonny Stevens.
Just as Persib was building up their attacking plays, Dewa United instead opened the scoring. Egy Maulana Vikri found the net in the 22nd minute to put the visiting side 1-0 ahead.
Persib tried to respond, but Dewa United kept applying pressure. Right before the half time break, Noah Sadaoui doubled the visitors' advantage in the 45th minute, finishing off an assist from Taisei Marukawa.
The 2-0 scoreline held until the end of the first half. Persib faced a massive uphill battle to overturn the deficit, while Dewa United held a very comfortable position going into the break.
Even so, support from the Bobotoh never faded. Chants continued ringing out from the stands, carrying the hope that Maung Bandung could mount a fightback in the second half.
Two Quick Goals: Persib Stages Comeback!
Persib came out for the second half playing far more aggressively. The home side's pressure finally paid off in the 50th minute, when Balsa Sekulic scored to cut the deficit to 1-2.
Persib did not take long to level the match. Just four minutes later, Marc Klok fired a powerful strike that brought the score to 2-2 in the 54th minute.
In that short span of time, Persib had completely erased Dewa United's two goal advantage. The momentum of the match shifted completely, as the Bobotoh stands erupted in celebration of Maung Bandung's comeback.
Persib pushed on searching for a winning goal, while Dewa United regrouped to stabilise their play and began threatening the home defence once more.
However, no further goals were scored before the final whistle blew. Both sides had to settle for a share of the points as the match ended 2-2.
Persib Climbs To 8th Place
This result leaves Persib with 7 points from 4 matches, moving them up to 8th position in the provisional league table. Dewa United meanwhile drops to 2nd place with 11 points from 5 fixtures, sitting behind Persija Jakarta who lead the table on 12 points.
For Persib, recovering from a two goal deficit to earn a draw serves as positive morale. That said, dropping points at home still remains an issue that Maung Bandung will need to address.
On the other side, Dewa United will have to review how they surrendered their lead in the second half. After putting in an efficient first half performance, the visiting side failed to hold their advantage until full time.
After the match concluded, ITSMe and reporter Syafira once again spoke with Bobotoh supporters to get their reactions to the Match Result. The ITSMe team also got the chance to interview Persib player Thom Haye as he made his way to the team bus.
This fixture perfectly demonstrated how quickly momentum can shift in football. While Persib missed out on taking all three points, they successfully salvaged one point thanks to their relentless second half fightback.
From Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, this 2-2 draw tells the story of Maung Bandung's fighting comeback, backed by unwavering Bobotoh support that lasted right until the final whistle in the BRI Super League 2026/2027.
