Persija Jakarta has formally requested authorities to conduct a full, thorough investigation into the attack on the travelling party of Elite Pro Academy (EPA) Persib Bandung at the KM 360 Rest Area in Batang, Central Java. The club, nicknamed Macan Kemayoran, stressed that acts of violence can never be justified under any circumstances, regardless of the long-standing rivalry between the two sides.

In an official statement released from Jakarta, Persija confirmed its support for objective handling of this case strictly in accordance with applicable law. The club also demanded that every party proven to be involved will be held fully accountable for their actions.

"Persija stands for this incident to be investigated completely, fairly, and in full compliance with prevailing legal regulations. All individuals confirmed to have taken part must take full responsibility for what they have done," stated the official release from Persija Jakarta management on Monday in Jakarta.

The Persib EPA travelling group was reportedly assaulted by a mob at the Batang KM 360 Rest Area on Sunday, 11 October.

This incident gained widespread public attention after short video footage circulated across social media showing damage inflicted on the Persib EPA team bus. Multiple sections of the vehicle, including all side windows, were reported shattered after being struck by thrown hard objects.

Persija has issued a strong condemnation of this violent attack. The club noted that this act did not only cause material damage to the vehicle, but also placed lives at severe risk and endangered all Persib youth players and staff on board.

Macan Kemayoran also extended sincere sympathy to all victims of the incident, particularly those who suffered physical assault. Persija expressed hope that every member of the travelling party will recover swiftly from the trauma and harm caused.

"We hope all members of the team delegation can recover quickly from the impact of this terrible event," the club statement added.

Persija emphasized that no justification exists for violence, assault, or vandalism carried out under the pretext of Football Rivalry. Such behaviour was described as a violation of basic Sportsmanship, and an attack on the spirit of solidarity within Indonesian Football.

The club also rejected any action by individuals or groups that misuse supporter identities or club names to commit violence. According to Persija, support for a team must always be expressed in ways that never put other people at risk.

This message carries particular urgency given this incident targeted a youth development squad. EPA players are currently at a critical stage of training and skill building for their professional football careers, meaning their safety requires dedicated, serious protection.

Persija reminded that inter-club rivalry belongs only on the football pitch, expressed through matches and fair Sporting competition. Hostility and aggression outside the field only threatens public safety and damages the reputation of national football for everyone.

The club has called on all supporters to demonstrate maturity when backing their team. Loyalty to one's club must never be used as an excuse to harm fans, staff or players from opposing sides.

"End all violence. Rivalry is never a reason to hurt another person. Indonesian Football must be a safe space for everyone," Persija concluded.
