Persib Bandung continued their positive run in the AFC Champions League Two (ACL Two) 2026/2027. A late first-half penalty goal from Mariano Peralta secured a 1-0 victory for Maung Bandung over Vietnamese side Cong Viettel FC in their second Group E fixture, held at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency on Wednesday evening.

Peralta was the difference maker in this match. After being fouled by a Cong Viettel defender inside the penalty box, he successfully converted the spot kick in the 45th minute.

This result gives Persib strong momentum in the group stage, following their previous 1-0 away win against FC Seoul in South Korea for the opening match on 16 September.

Playing in front of their home supporters, Persib looked to take control of the game right from kickoff. However, the hosts were unable to create any dangerous chances during the opening 10 minutes despite applying pressure.

In the 17th minute, a powerful strike from Peralta was blocked by a Cong Viettel defender.

The visitors responded three minutes later with a headed attempt from Trieu Viet Hung, though his effort drifted wide of the left post of Teja Paku Alam's goal.

Persib pushed forward again through Marc Klok in the 27th minute, but his long range effort from outside the box was blocked by the Cong Viettel defensive line.

Four minutes later, Ikhwan Ali Tanamal unleashed a fierce shot which was denied by Cong Viettel Goalkeeper Nguyen Van Viet.

Peralta Penalty Clears Path For Persib Victory

Persib's deadlock was finally broken just before half time. Peralta was brought down by Kyle Colonna inside the penalty area in the 41st minute, with United Arab Emirates referee Ahmed Darwish immediately pointing to the spot.

Tempers flared briefly before the penalty could be taken. A confrontation between Thom Haye and Rimario resulted in both players being shown yellow cards.

Once order was restored, designated taker Peralta sent Nguyen Van Viet the wrong way in the 45th minute to put Persib 1-0 ahead.

This goal remained the only difference between the two sides as the first half came to a close.

As the second half got underway, Maung Bandung looked to extend their lead. Peralta had another goalscoring opportunity in the 51st minute but failed to convert.

Meanwhile, a headed attempt from Julio Cesar in the 61st minute sailed well over the Cong Viettel crossbar.

Two Red Cards In The Second Half

The dynamic of the match shifted in the 65th minute when Cong Viettel were reduced to 10 men, after Paulinho was shown a straight red card for kicking Peralta.

Persib made a triple substitution in the 68th minute, bringing on Adam Alis, Luka Menalo and Balsa Sekulic in place of Peralta, Berguinho and Luciano Guaycochea.

Persib's numerical advantage only lasted eight minutes. Klok received his second yellow card in the 73rd minute for a foul on a Cong Viettel player.

The Maung Bandung captain was sent off, bringing both sides back to even numbers on the pitch.

This situation forced Persib to balance maintaining defensive solidity while still looking for chances to extend their lead, with the home side resorting to counter attacks on several occasions to threaten the opposition defence.

In the 79th minute, Eliano Reijnders, Luka Menalo and Thom Haye combined well in a build up play, but could not find the finishing touch for a goal.

Cong Viettel also failed to find an equaliser before the end of regular time, with four minutes of stoppage time added on. The 1-0 scoreline held firm until the final whistle blew.
