Persija Jakarta's team launch for the 2026/2027 season has encountered off-field problems. The Jakmania have formally announced a boycott of the pre-season friendly match against Brisbane Roar FC on 29 August 2026, as a protest against raised ticket prices.

This position was communicated by The Jakmania via their official Instagram account on Thursday. The boycott decision was finalised after the Persija supporters group confirmed they could not reach an agreement with club management regarding match ticket pricing.

Ticket prices for the Brisbane Roar fixture have increased compared to pricing for the previous season's team launch event. Lower tier tickets have risen by IDR 150,000, while upper tier tickets increased by IDR 130,000. These quoted prices do not include tax and administration fees.

"For the reasons outlined, The Jakmania officially declares a boycott of Persija Jakarta's pre-season friendly against Brisbane Roar FC scheduled for 29 August 2026," read the official statement from the supporters group.

The Jakmania Highlights Supporter Representation Failings

The Jakmania stated this dispute is not solely about the magnitude of the price increase, but also broken communication lines between club management and the fanbase.

According to the group, Persija management ignored clear prior feedback from supporters rejecting ticket price rises for the team launch event.

The match against Brisbane Roar holds high significance, as it is scheduled as Persija's final pre-season friendly before the club commences the 2026/2027 Super League campaign.

This fixture had been intended as the official moment for The Jakmania to welcome the new squad and assess the readiness of Shin Tae-yong's side.

The supporters group argues fans are being unfairly disadvantaged, forced to pay increased costs simply to attend the team's official season launch in person.

They maintain that a squad launch event should be widely accessible to all supporters, not gated behind prohibitive pricing barriers.

Demand For Ticket Prices Reverted To Previous Season Levels

The Jakmania have formally demanded Persija management immediately adjust ticket pricing for this match to match the exact rates used for the previous season's team launch. This demand is the central condition tied to their public boycott announcement.

Prior to the boycott, Persija had published tiered ticket pricing for the launch event.

Standard Category 1 tickets are priced between IDR 250,000 and IDR 350,000. Category 1 Family packages are listed from IDR 900,000 up to IDR 1,200,000, while VIP tickets are on sale starting at IDR 500,000, rising up to IDR 1,600,000.

The Persija versus Brisbane Roar fixture remains scheduled for 29 August 2026. For the club, this match is a critical final assessment of squad condition following the full pre-season training schedule.

For supporters, the fixture was also meant to be their first public opportunity to welcome the finalised 2026/2027 team roster.
