Jay Idzes, Kevin Diks, and Calvin Verdonk are ready to represent the Indonesia National Team at the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup.

The Indonesia National Team has received positive news ahead of the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup. Three players plying their trade in Europe, namely Jay Idzes, Kevin Diks, and Calvin Verdonk, are confirmed to be ready to join the Garuda squad before the tournament commences.

This information was announced by Noor Korompot, Special Staff of the Ministry of Law of the Republic of Indonesia. Previously, Korompot had also revealed plans for Jay Idzes to arrive in Jakarta approximately one week prior to the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup.

The tournament is scheduled to run from 24 September to 3 October 2026. If all plans proceed as arranged, the overseas-based players will begin reporting to the national squad around mid-September.

The confirmation of these three players' availability is welcome news for head coach John Herdman. Indonesia requires their strongest possible line-up following the disappointing results recorded at the 2026 ASEAN Championship.

Lille and Borussia Moenchengladbach Grant Player Release

Calvin Verdonk and Kevin Diks have both received official clearance from their respective clubs to represent Indonesia at this tournament.

Calvin currently plays for LOSC Lille, while Kevin Diks is contracted to Borussia Moenchengladbach. Both defenders are reportedly set to fly to Jakarta approximately one week before the opening match.

"There are confirmed reports Calvin Verdonk will travel to Jakarta shortly ahead of the kickoff of the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup," Noor Korompot stated via an Instagram post.

Indonesia have been drawn in Premier Division Group A alongside Bangladesh, Singapore, and Malaysia.

The arrival of Verdonk and Diks will significantly strengthen Indonesia's preparations, particularly as both players will be able to complete the full pre-tournament training camp schedule.

Kevin Diks Confirmed Ready For Jakarta Arrival

Kevin Diks has formally confirmed his availability to link up with the Indonesia National Team. Per Noor Korompot's statement, the Garuda defender will arrive in Jakarta exactly one week before the tournament begins.

"Kevin Diks has formally confirmed he will travel to Jakarta to join the Indonesia squad for the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup, one week before this inaugural tournament edition runs between 24 September and 3 October 2026," Korompot added.

This timeline will allow all overseas-based players to complete the full collective training programme before official fixtures commence.

"As scheduled, all foreign-based players will report to the national training camp in Jakarta around one week prior to the opening match," he continued.

Jay Idzes Scheduled To Arrive One Week Prior To Tournament

Noor Korompot had previously confirmed that Jay Idzes is also scheduled to land in Jakarta approximately one week before the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup.

Idzes' availability is considered critical for Indonesia, as the centre-back is the established core leader of the national team's defensive line.

With Idzes, Diks and Verdonk all fully available, Herdman will gain significantly more tactical options to structure his backline and adjust match formations.

Tournament Falls Within Official FIFA Matchday Window

A core reason for optimism surrounding Indonesia's 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup campaign is that the entire tournament is held within an official FIFA Matchday window.

This scheduling means clubs are mandated to release overseas-based Indonesian players for international duty, a major contrast to tournaments held outside the official FIFA calendar.

For Herdman, having full access to his foreign-based players represents a vital boost, coming off Indonesia's poor campaign at the 2026 ASEAN Championship.

The 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup will be the Garuda squad's first opportunity to deliver a public response following that disappointing campaign.

Indonesia will host this inaugural edition of the FIFA ASEAN Cup, with Jakarta and Bandung confirmed as the two host cities.
