The Indonesia National Team is preparing for the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 running from 24 September to 5 October. The Garuda Squad has been drawn into Group A and will play all their group matches at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta.

Alongside Indonesia, Group A consists of Singapore, Malaysia and Bangladesh. These three group stage fixtures will be the first hurdle for John Herdman's side as they chase qualification to the final of this new FIFA-endorsed tournament.

John Herdman's squad will kick off their campaign on Friday 25 September against Singapore at SUGBK, with kick-off scheduled for 20.00 WIB.

Following the opening match, Indonesia will return to action on Monday 28 September, where they will face Malaysia in a fixture scheduled for 19.30 WIB.

The clash against Malaysia is one of the most highly anticipated matches of the entire group stage. The historic rivalry between the two nations gives this fixture unique public interest, while also acting as a critical test for Indonesia's bid to finish top of Group A.

Indonesia's final group stage match will see them face Bangladesh, hosted at SUGBK on Thursday 1 October at 19.30 WIB.

Under the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 format, all teams will only play each other once during the group phase. The first placed team from Group A and Group B will advance directly to the tournament final, while the two group runners-up will compete for third place.

Group B contains Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Pakistan, with all Group B matches being played at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency.

This means should Indonesia finish top of Group A, they will host the final match at SUGBK. The tournament showpiece fixture is scheduled for Monday 5 November at 20.00 WIB.

The third place play-off will be held earlier on the same day, with the two group runners-up facing each other at SUGBK from 16.00 WIB.

Beyond on-pitch competition, the FIFA ASEAN Cup has been developed as a new platform to strengthen football cooperation and relations between nations across the Southeast Asian region.

PSSI President Erick Thohir stated that FIFA's trust in awarding Indonesia hosting rights is both an honour and a major responsibility for the country's domestic football ecosystem.
