Indonesia National Team striker Mitchell Baker leads the race for the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup golden boot. After netting five goals against Bangladesh, Baker holds the provisional top scorer position with a one-goal advantage over Bergson Da Silva.

Baker scored all five goals during Indonesia's dominant 9-2 victory over Bangladesh in the final Group A fixture, hosted at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta on Thursday. This single-match goal haul immediately catapulted him to the top of the temporary Top Goalscorers Standings.

Directly behind Baker sits Bergson da Silva. The Malaysian forward has registered four goals across two tournament matches, and retains a very real chance to overtake the Indonesian striker when Malaysia face Vietnam in the third place playoff.

Bergson opened his tournament account with one goal during Malaysia's 3-0 win against Bangladesh. He found an even sharper edge in the next fixture against Singapore, netting a hat-trick to secure a 6-0 victory for his side.

This form has intensified the golden boot battle between the two forwards. While Baker currently sits on five goals, Bergson only requires one additional strike to draw level.

Joint third place is held by Malaysia's Arif Aiman and Thailand striker Teerasak Poeiphimai, both on two goals. Both players will still feature in their respective final tournament fixtures, leaving them with opportunity to add to their tallies.

Baker's five goal haul against Bangladesh did more than just seal a convincing group stage closing win for Indonesia. This performance brings his international record to nine goals from just seven senior appearances, since he made his debut for the Indonesia National Team last August.

Prior to this tournament, Baker had already scored four goals at the 2026 AFF Cup. His outstanding form has carried over seamlessly into the FIFA ASEAN Cup, culminating in this five goal single match haul.

Baker's prolific output also helped Indonesia finish top of Group A, confirming their place in the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup final against Thailand.

The final match will be held at SUGBK on Monday 5 October, kicking off at 20.00 WIB. This fixture will provide Baker with another chance to extend his lead at the top of the goalscoring charts.

Nevertheless, Bergson remains firmly in contention. Malaysia will play their third place playoff against the Group B runners-up at the same stadium earlier that same day, with kick off scheduled for 16.00 WIB.

Both strikers therefore still have a full 90 minutes to add to their goal totals. Baker can extend his gap during the final, while Bergson will look to close the deficit in the third place match.

The 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup top scorer race is far from settled. While Baker's five goals put him out front for now, Bergson sits just one strike behind. Arif and Teerasak also remain able to add to their tallies before the tournament concludes.

Provisional 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup Top Scorers Standings:

5 goals: Mitchell Baker (Indonesia)

4 goals: Bergson da Silva (Malaysia)

2 goals: Arif Aiman (Malaysia), Teerasak Poeiphimai (Thailand)
