Persija Jakarta and Persebaya Surabaya both secured three points in the latest round of the BRI Super League 2026/2027. Persija mounted a comeback to defeat Persik Kediri 2-1 at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), while Persebaya Surabaya overcame Madura United 3-1 at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium.
The two victories were earned through very different battles. Persija had to overturn an early deficit, while Persebaya only sealed their win during injury time after Madura United had managed to equalise.
Persija now sits firmly at the top of the provisional standings with 18 points. Meanwhile, Persebaya climbed to 7th place having collected 12 points from seven matches played.

Persija Comeback: Two Goals In Three Minutes Sink Persik
Persik Kediri's aggressive play initially troubled Persija Jakarta. The visiting side applied high pressing right from kickoff, and took the lead after just 10 minutes of play.
Persik's goal was scored by Imanol Garcia with a headed finish, converting a cross from Ernesto Gomez. This goal forced Persija to work significantly harder to find their match rhythm and break down the Macan Putih defence.
The home side attempted to respond with combination passing play and individual runs. In the 34th minute, Arylansyah Abdulmanan broke into the penalty area, but his cross was successfully cleared by Persik defenders.
Persija created two clear chances just before half time. In the 43rd minute, Arylansyah's left-footed strike after receiving the ball from Witan Sulaeman was blocked by the opposition defence.
Two minutes later, Alexander Jeremejeff was presented with an opening after a defensive error from Persik, however his shot struck the crossbar. Persik went into the half time break holding a 1-0 lead.
At the start of the second half, Persija head coach Shin Tae-yong made substitutions, bringing on Rizky Ridho and Kwon Chang-hoon. These changes allowed the Macan Kemayoran side to take greater control of the game while also neutralising Persik's counter attacks.
In the 64th minute, Denis Kolinger equalised with a back post header, connecting perfectly with Rayhan Hannan's free kick delivery.
Just two minutes later, Persija took the lead. Starting from a dead ball situation taken by Kwon Chang-hoon, Kolinger laid the ball off to Rizky Ridho. The Indonesian National Team defender hit a first time shot that beat goalkeeper Husna Al Malik.
Persik pushed for an equaliser during the final 10 minutes of the match. Late drama unfolded when Ivan Mamut found the net for what looked like Persija's third goal, only for the strike to be disallowed after a VAR review confirmed a foul had been committed just outside the penalty area in the build up.
Persik would win one final set piece chance late on, but failed to convert. Persija held on to secure the 2-1 victory and retain their position at the top of the league table.

Over in Surabaya, Persebaya also endured a tough contest before sealing their 3-1 victory over Madura United. Heavy rain falling over Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium made ball control difficult for both sides throughout the match.
Persebaya opened the scoring in the 22nd minute through Miguel Pereira. His right-footed strike curled into the top left corner, beating goalkeeper Angga Saputro to give the home side a 1-0 lead.
Persebaya continued to threaten after the restart, with headed efforts from Gledson and Rivera both failing to add to the scoreline early in the second half.
The game took a turn in the 65th minute. Madura United were reduced to 10 men after Paulo Sitanggang was shown a straight red card for a foul on Catur Pamungkas, who was subsequently substituted off due to injury following the challenge.
Despite playing a man down, Madura United found an equaliser just five minutes later. Gali Freitas converted a free kick in the 70th minute to level the scores at 1-1.
Persebaya created multiple chances in response but could not find a winning goal as regular time expired, sending the match into added time.
Persebaya were awarded a penalty after Miguel Pereira was fouled inside the box. Yuran Fernandes stepped up and successfully converted the spot kick in the 90+1st minute, putting the home side back ahead 2-1.
There would be one more goal before full time. Five minutes later, Yan Mabella finished off a counter attack from Jefferson's pass in the 90+6th minute, wrapping up the 3-1 victory for the hosts.
