Max Verstappen has finally claimed his first victory at the Formula 1 (F1) Singapore Grand Prix. The Red Bull Racing driver delivered a dominant performance to conquer the Marina Bay Street Circuit on Sunday, 11 October 2026.
This success capped off Verstappen's impressive showing across the entire race weekend. After winning the Sprint session ahead of the Ferrari pairing Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, the Dutch driver once again set the fastest pace over the full 62-lap main race.
Starting the race from pole position, Verstappen crossed the finish line with a recorded time of 1 hour 42 minutes 0.785 seconds. He finished 7.335 seconds clear of Charles Leclerc, who took second place.

Meanwhile, Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli secured third position, finishing 24.573 seconds behind the race winner.
This result holds special meaning for Verstappen, as it marks his first ever win at Marina Bay after 10 previous attempts. Prior to the 2026 season, he had already earned four podiums at this circuit, including two runner-up finishes in 2024 and 2025.
With this victory, the Madrid circuit in Spain now stands as the only track on the 2026 F1 calendar that Verstappen has not yet won at.
“It did take quite a long time, but I think this race went really well. We had the pace when we needed it, on both the soft and medium tyres, though I will say the medium tyre presented its own unique challenge for every driver out there," Verstappen stated regarding his maiden Singapore win, as quoted from the official F1 website on Sunday.
Verstappen Extends Winning Streak
Victory in Singapore also prolongs Verstappen's positive momentum, following his prior win at the Bahrain Grand Prix held in Malaysia, according to source reports.
Red Bull Racing's form has shown clear improvement over recent races. Major performance updates rolled out by the team at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix have been a key factor in the increased competitiveness of their car.
Verstappen also paid tribute to the hard work of every team member that contributed to this upturn in performance.
“I think the last few races have gone really positively for us, and it's very satisfying to see that progress unfold".
"Everyone on this team has incredible drive to keep chasing more good results. This is such a great group of people. I absolutely love working with all of them, and hopefully we can keep enjoying this run right through to the end of the season," he added.
2026 F1 Championship Standings Grow Ever More Competitive
The 33 points awarded from the Singapore Grand Prix round have lifted Verstappen to 4th place in the provisional championship standings, with a total of 221 points.
He now sits just behind Lewis Hamilton, who holds 3rd place with 229 points. George Russell occupies 2nd position on 238 points, while Antonelli remains the championship leader with 340 points.
With six rounds still remaining in the 2026 season, the battle for championship positions remains wide open. Verstappen will need to maintain consistent form if he is to continue closing the gap to his rivals.
The next round is scheduled to take place at the Circuit of The Americas, United States of America, two weeks after the Singapore race.
