Kimi Antonelli Takes Lessons from Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Starting from 16th Position Concludes the Race with a 5th Place Finish.

Despite failing to secure a podium finish, Antonelli stated that the Baku race provided him with several valuable lessons.

"I constantly felt one step behind, and especially after the qualifying mistake my confidence was low. During the race I just focused on staying calm and avoiding unnecessary errors," stated Kimi Antonelli, as quoted from official Formula 1 sources on Sunday.

Antonelli also acknowledged his performance across the entire weekend had not reached his personal best standard. He identified multiple areas requiring improvement ahead of the next championship round, including his race mindset.

"This weekend taught me so much. At so many points across these past few days... I can't really explain it, but my mindset just wasn't operating at the right level," Antonelli added.

This fifth place result in Baku means Antonelli must maintain full focus. The battle at the top of the championship Standings remains wide open, with every upcoming round representing a critical opportunity to extend his advantage over rivals.

Antonelli Still Leads The Championship Standings

Antonelli currently holds first position in the provisional championship standings with a total of 302 points.

His lead is not yet fully secure however. Mercedes teammate George Russell sits second on 236 points, after claiming victory at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
