Young Golfer from the United States, Blades Brown, has set new history in professional World Golf. At 19 years old, he became the youngest golfer ever to earn a PGA Tour card via the Korn Ferry Tour after concluding the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour Championship in Glen Allen, Virginia on Sunday, 11 October 2026.
Brown secured his spot for the 2027 PGA Tour season after finishing second at this closing Korn Ferry Tour season tournament. He recorded a total score of 18 under par, only two strokes behind event winner Austin Hitt, who completed the tournament at 20 under par.
This achievement placed Brown at 9th position in the final Korn Ferry Tour points Standings. This ranking was sufficient to lock one of the 20 available PGA Tour cards, awarded to the top performing golfers from the 2026 season classification.

Blades Brown Breaks Jason Day's Record
Brown's accomplishment is even more remarkable as he surpassed the previous record held by Australian golfer Jason Day.
Brown earned his PGA Tour card at the age of 19 years, 4 months and 20 days. Prior to this, Day held the record as the youngest golfer to qualify for the PGA Tour via the development tour circuit back in 2007, when he was 19 years and 11 months old.
Brown's success showcases the rapid progression of his career ever since he turned professional in December 2024, at just 17 years old.
Rather than taking the college golf path followed by most young American golfers, Brown chose to compete immediately at professional level. That decision has now brought him to the main stage of global professional golf.
Brown Led Early, Delivered Stellar Second Round Performance
Brown's path to the PGA Tour was built upon his impressive showing throughout the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour Championship.
He opened the tournament with a 68 stroke score in the first round. However his best performance came during the second round, where he carded 61 strokes for 10 under par.
During that round, Brown scored back-to-back eagles on the 9th and 10th holes, before closing his round with five consecutive birdies. This incredible result shot him to the top of the leaderboard and opened the chance to finish the tournament as Champion.
Brown still held the lead after the third round with a total score of 16 under par. However competition tightened sharply in the final round, as Austin Hitt mounted a comeback to overtake him.
Hitt posted 66 strokes in the final round to finish the tournament at 20 under par. Brown meanwhile carded 69 strokes, and had to settle for runner-up position with his 18 under par total.
Despite missing out on the tournament trophy, this result did not prevent Brown from achieving his bigger target: securing a PGA Tour card for the upcoming season.
PGA Tour Marks New Chapter In Blades Brown's Career
A PGA Tour card is a critical milestone for professional golfers, as it grants the opportunity to compete regularly on one of the most competitive golf tours in the world.
For Brown, this success caps off an already promising season. He had previously been awarded Special Temporary Membership status on the PGA Tour following strong performances at multiple events, including a 3rd place finish at the 2026 Puerto Rico Open.
This status granted him additional opportunities to compete in select PGA Tour events. Now, having locked in a full card via the Korn Ferry Tour standings, Brown has a clear pathway ahead to continue his career during the 2027 season.
Brown admitted that this achievement still feels surreal to him fully.
"It hasn't really sunk in yet. Right now I'm still in a little bit of disbelief, but I'm slowly starting to process all of this," Brown stated, as quoted from the official PGA Tour website.
He also explained that his experience competing on the Korn Ferry Tour had a huge impact on his growth, both as a golfer and as an individual.
"I feel like the Korn Ferry Tour changed my life. It gave me the chance to grow, not just as a player, but as a person," said Brown.
Brown's success adds another name to the list of young golfers who have broken through to the sport's highest level at an early age. His next challenge will be proving that this historic achievement can form the foundation for consistent competitive performances on the PGA Tour.
