Tangerang - The future of Golf Tourism is not defined solely by the quality of golf courses, but also by the experiences offered outside of the game itself. Combining sport, nature, and recreational facilities is one strategy to expand the appeal of golf destinations.
This concept was showcased at the Indonesia Golf Festival (IGF) 2026, held 23–25 October at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang Regency, Banten. This festival provides momentum for the Golf Industry to introduce approaches for developing the sport as an integrated part of tourism.
One company advancing this concept is PT Intra Golflink Resorts Tbk (IDX: GOLF). Through its New Kuta Golf facility in Pecatu, Bali, the company has expanded the function of the golf precinct by adding premium residential accommodation, commercial facilities, and nature-based recreation offerings.

Golf Course in Tea Plantation Has Potential as Sports Tourism Destination
At IGF 2026, GOLF presented its Golf Tourism framework that unites luxury living, wellness, Nature Conservation, and sustainability. One highlighted initiative is the agritourism program at New Kuta Golf, including fresh melon and tomato harvests cultivated directly on the golf estate grounds.
Featuring these farm outputs demonstrates how off-course activities can form core value for golf destination development. Crop cultivation, nature recreation, and environmental education are designed to create a complete visitor experience beyond playing golf.

Agritourism Expands the Golf Experience
Development of the New Kuta Golf agritourism program began with construction of greenhouses equipped with automated temperature, humidity and irrigation control systems. This technology enables controlled crop cultivation on the estate.
Moving forward, the company plans to expand this facility across 1.3 hectares with a target of 4 total greenhouses, including advanced smart climate-controlled units.
For Sport Tourism growth, this approach creates opportunities for diverse non-golf activities on site. Visitors will be able to enjoy nature recreation while learning about agricultural practices all within the same precinct.
GOLF expects this initiative will extend visitor activity and encourage longer stay durations. Success of this concept will ultimately depend on how these facilities are refined into engaging, high-value tourism experiences for guests.

Bali and Golf Tourism Market Potential
Bali is the primary focus for the company's Golf Business development. Official company releases confirm that New Kuta Golf in Pecatu is the single largest revenue contributor for the firm.
In the first half of 2026, new kuta golf recorded IDR 78.62 billion in revenue, a 56.2% year-on-year increase. This figure represented 84.9% of the company's total H1 2026 revenue of IDR 92.63 billion.
Development potential for the estate is also supported by Bali's tourism and premium property market dynamics. Citing Central Statistics Agency (BPS) data, the company noted international tourist arrivals to Bali reached 685,994 in August 2026, marking a 0.5% annual increase.
Meanwhile, REID market research recorded 4,220 villa transactions across Bali in the 12 months ending H1 2026. Median villa sales prices rose 3.1% year-on-year to IDR 5.27 billion.
These market trends underpin the ongoing development of New Kuta Golf alongside The Links Golf Villa. Integrating the Golf Course with premium residential accommodation is expected to expand the visitor base and create long-term asset monetisation opportunities.

Residential, Retail & Events Complete the Integrated Precinct
New Kuta Golf development also includes residential and commercial amenities. GOLF is continuing handover processes for The Links Golf Villa Cluster 1 as part of its real estate expansion.
In October 2026, the company held the soft opening of LIVORA, a supermarket and lifestyle retail outlet located at Tebing Commercial Building. This commercial structure spans 1,400 square metres, with LIVORA operating across 250 square metres of floor space.
LIVORA stocks daily necessities, fresh produce and gourmet goods, serving both estate residents and visitors while generating recurring retail revenue streams.
GOLF is also developing an event venue adjacent to the 17th hole of New Kuta Golf. Designed to leverage panoramic views of the Golf Course, Pecatu cliffs and Bali natural landscape, the facility will host public events and recreational activities.
This full suite of facilities reflects the long-term vision for New Kuta Golf as an integrated precinct connecting sport, residential living, commercial services and tourism experiences.

Challenges Building a Sport Tourism Destination
Complete infrastructure is one foundation for developing Sports Tourism destinations. However, long-term appeal depends not only on physical facilities, but also on consistent service quality and memorable visitor experiences.
Through its IGF 2026 participation, GOLF has presented a framework that positions golf as part of a wider interconnected Tourism Ecosystem. Agritourism acts as a unique differentiator, complementing sporting activity with recreation and environmental education.
The next core challenge will be translating these physical facilities into genuinely compelling experiences for all visitors, including non-golfers.
If developed consistently, New Kuta Golf can establish itself as a leading integrated destination for sport, nature and premium lifestyle. This model also demonstrates how golf can play an expanded role in Bali's wider Sport Tourism growth.
