Manchester City Remains Confident They Are Not Guilty In The Case Of 115 Financial Violation Charges

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has reaffirmed his full belief that the club is innocent in the case concerning alleged breaches of Premier League financial regulations.

Manchester City was previously found guilty on 114 out of 115 charges relating to alleged violations of English top flight financial rules. However Al Mubarak confirmed the club's stance remains unchanged, and they will continue to proceed through the active legal process.

"The Premier League proceedings still have a very long way to run. Our conviction and resolve to prove this Club is innocent remains every bit as strong as it was the day this matter first emerged," stated Al Mubarak, quoted from the club's official release on Sunday.

Al Mubarak noted there are many details he wishes to share publicly. He stated full clarification is required for all parties to understand the foundation of Manchester City's unwavering belief they have done nothing wrong.

However, he explained the ongoing legal process operates under strict confidentiality rules. This restriction means Al Mubarak is not currently permitted to disclose all the context and information he would like to present to the public.

He also confirmed Manchester City remains fully committed to complying with every applicable rule and requirement for the entire duration of these proceedings.

Before issuing this statement, Al Mubarak confirmed the club completed multiple independent legal reviews. This step was taken to guarantee nothing published would conflict with the rules governing the active process.

"I ask that you read carefully the statement we issued on Friday, included below, alongside the original club statement published in February 2023 also provided here. Every single word within these documents carries deliberate meaning, and every word is entirely truthful," Al Mubarak wrote.

Al Mubarak again emphasised that the proceedings between Manchester City and the Premier League have not concluded. For this reason the club will continue to respect the formal process and all binding regulations that apply to it.

"The process with the Premier League remains ongoing, with multiple critical stages still to be completed, and remains fully subject to strict confidentiality provisions. As such, Manchester City FC's official position remains exactly as laid out in the club statement from February 2023," the official club release confirmed.

Manchester City also reaffirmed that throughout this entire process they will continue to respect the formal procedures established by the Premier League.

"For eight full years this Club has consistently respected all applicable procedures, operating in good faith that the Premier League Board and executive leadership will act as an independent, impartial, fair regulator, Free from partisan outside influence," the statement concluded.
