MotoGP Mandalika 2026: Preparations Reach 95 Percent, Tickets Remain Highly Sought After

The Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 is fast approaching. The Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has confirmed that preparations for hosting the Mandalika MotoGP at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara have reached 95 percent completion.

The race is scheduled to take place on 9–11 October. As preparations enter the final stage, organisers have begun carrying out comprehensive checks across all operational areas to ensure the Mandalika MotoGP event runs as planned.

"Event readiness is already at 95 percent, and we are now entering the final verification phase. At the same time, spectator enthusiasm continues to grow," stated Troy Warokka, Chairman of the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia and ITDC Operations Director, in an official written statement.

Preparations are not only focused on the race track. ITDC is also confirming readiness for race operations, transport, security, Healthcare Services, accommodation, spectator facilities, and local community engagement programs.

Towards FIM Grade A Homologation

Prior inspections of the circuit and supporting facilities have already been conducted jointly with relevant stakeholders. This audit process is part of preparations ahead of the official FIM Grade A homologation assessment on 8 October.

A total of 400 track marshals will be deployed throughout the race event. These personnel are scheduled to complete mandatory training between 5–8 October to ensure they are fully prepared to carry out their duties over the Mandalika MotoGP race weekend.

For transport arrangements, organisers have prepared 118 shuttle vehicles for spectator and visitor movement within the Mandalika precinct for the duration of the 9–11 October event.

The West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government will provide an additional 35 shuttle units to serve transport requirements outside the circuit zone. This arrangement is designed to ensure smooth spectator travel throughout the MotoGP event period.

Hundreds Of Personnel Deployed For Security And Medical Operations

Security protocols form a critical component of the preparations. A total of 170 dedicated security personnel alongside 550 crowd control officers will be deployed, with full cross-stakeholder coordination established.

Meanwhile, tiered medical response capabilities have been put in place. This includes fully trained medical teams and equipment, emergency medical helicopters, referral hospital arrangements, and even a dedicated mini ICU facility for the VIP area.

Comprehensive preparations have been implemented to accommodate all requirements for what will be one of Indonesia's largest international sporting events.

High Demand For Mandalika MotoGP Tickets

Strong public enthusiasm is already visible in ticket sales. The first round of exclusive discounted tickets for West Nusa Tenggara residents sold out completely.

Organisers have since opened a second ticket allocation for local residents, while general public tickets are now being sold at standard pricing.

"We encourage the public to secure their tickets now, do not miss the chance to watch the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia live in person," said Troy.

The build-up for the Mandalika MotoGP is also being brought outside the circuit grounds. ITDC unveiled a giant Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 helmet installation at Jakarta's HI Roundabout on Sunday, held to coincide with the city's weekly car-free day event.

This public activation forms part of efforts to bring the MotoGP event closer to the general public, while also building support for the two Indonesian Riders competing: Mario Aji and Veda Ega Pratama.

"We want the excitement leading up to the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia to not only be felt in Mandalika, but experienced by communities all across Indonesia," Troy added.

Thousands Of Volunteers And Local MSMEs Involved

A full program of supporting events will be held in the lead-up to race weekend. An official watch party is scheduled for 4 October, followed by a riders' parade in Mataram and the official opening ceremony on 11 October.

The opening ceremony will feature local cultural performances and homegrown talent. Additionally, approximately 2,200 volunteers will take part in running the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia.

Local community participation also includes 213 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) vendors operating throughout the entire event program.

The Mandalika MotoGP is not just being positioned as an international motorcycle racing event. ITDC is also leveraging this tournament as part of the ongoing development of Mandalika as a premier Sports Tourism Destination. Multiple partners and official sponsors are also supporting the event delivery.

With preparations now standing at 95% complete, all focus now moves to the final verification phase before the race gets underway. Every element is being finalised - from track readiness and marshal training, through transport logistics, security, medical services, spectator arrangements, volunteers and local MSME participation - to welcome the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia in Mandalika.
