MotoGP Indonesia 2026 at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit does not only offer fierce on-track competition. At the Mandalika Bazaar precinct in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, visitors can also enjoy a wide selection of local cuisine through the 2nd edition of the Mandalika Street Food Festival -- an event combining regional signature dishes, local creative products and live entertainment.
This festival is designed to enrich the visitor experience during the Indonesian Grand Prix scheduled for 9-11 October 2026. A total of 20 food operators from local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) will serve an array of dishes, including serabi traditional pancakes, Narmada red satay, Suranadi Sate Bulayak and taichan satay.
Other iconic Lombok specialities available include Puyung racing rice and kecombrang shredded chicken rice, alongside assorted traditional snacks. For travelling race fans, this festival provides an opportunity to discover authentic local flavours between scheduled on-track sessions.

Acting President Director of InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) Ahmad Fajar confirmed that development of the Mandalika precinct does not rely solely on hosting international sporting events.
"Development here is not only focused on Running global sports competitions. We are building a complete, holistic visitor experience that also delivers real, direct economic benefit for the surrounding local community," stated Ahmad Fajar on Saturday.
Local Cuisine As A Core MotoGP Event Highlight
Mandalika Street Food Festival Volume 2 opened on Friday 9 August, operating daily 14.00 to 22.00 Central Indonesian Time. Organisers are projecting total attendance exceeding 15,000 domestic and international visitors across the event run.
The MotoGP event period provides local businesses a valuable platform to access a wider national and global audience. Visitors are able to experience Lombok's unique culinary heritage while engaging with local creative output.
This approach follows community-based tourism principles, where destination activities are designed not just for visitor enjoyment, but also to enable meaningful local participation and shared economic benefit.
The presence of local food vendors also demonstrates how international sporting events can be leveraged to showcase regional cultural identity.
Dishes such as sate bulayak and Puyung racing rice are not simply food options: they form part of the immersive experience of discovering Lombok through its living culinary traditions.
Creative Goods And Sustainable Lifestyle Offerings
The festival offers more than just food. Visitors will also find specialty local coffee, handcrafted goods and environmentally conscious lifestyle products.
Participating exhibitors include Muna Gallery, Lombok Vanilla, I Love Mutiara and MiaMia Crochet, providing visitors authentic locally made souvenirs ranging from wearable accessories to traditional craft pieces.
This combination of food and creative products allows Local MSMEs to showcase their brand identity and build connections with new customers.
For the Mandalika destination, this event demonstrates that appeal extends far beyond the race circuit, to the creativity and culture of surrounding local communities.
Live Screenings, Music And Interactive Activities
The festival atmosphere is further enlivened by a full community-run entertainment program, including the Samalas Custom Show, Poundpose Lombok, live art demonstrations, board game zones and the Pesta Timur community gathering.
Activities available include public MotoGP live screenings, mixologist demonstrations, live painting, face painting and interactive games. Musical entertainment will feature DJ sets, acoustic band performances and reggae acts throughout the festival period.
These activities provide relaxed alternative experiences for visitors outside the grandstand areas, suitable for families and groups looking to spend time between race sessions sampling food, watching performances or browsing market stalls.
Ahmad Fajar stated that this full supporting event program is designed to maximise the positive local impact of hosting the Indonesian Grand Prix. The combination of food, creative products, digital services and entertainment forms part of long term work to establish Mandalika as a fully integrated world class Tourism Destination.
For local MSMEs, the MotoGP visitor surge provides an opportunity to increase sales and introduce their products to new audiences. The long term challenge will be sustaining this benefit beyond the race Weekend, through ongoing promotion and sustained year round Tourist Visits.
