Vitinha Hopes The Conflict Between Cristiano Ronaldo And Jorge Jesus Will End Soon
Portugal national team midfielder Vitinha hopes Cristiano Ronaldo can return to represent the Selecao das Quinas once he resolves his dispute with head coach Jorge Jesus. He believes the best outcome for all parties is for the megastar to rejoin the Portugal squad.
The conflict between Ronaldo and Jorge Jesus emerged during the September 2026 international break. The 41-year-old striker was frustrated over a lack of playing time, which led him to walk out of the national team training camp.
Vitinha does not want this issue to drag on. He confirmed that everyone within the Portugal national team setup wants the situation to return to normal so Ronaldo can continue his career representing his country.

Ronaldo Issued An Apology, But The Dispute Remains Unresolved
After leaving the national team camp, Ronaldo published an apology to his teammates via social media. However, in the same statement, the Al Nassr player also accused Jorge Jesus of breaking a prior promise to him.
The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) subsequently handed Ronaldo a temporary suspension. As of this time, no final decision has been made regarding permanent disciplinary sanctions for CR7.
FPF has confirmed that full details of the disciplinary process will remain confidential until the investigation is concluded.
Previously, Ronaldo had stated he was willing to accept any punishment issued by the federation, while also reaffirming his desire to continue representing Portugal.
Ronaldo holds an unparalleled record for the national side: he has scored 146 goals across 234 appearances, making him the undisputed highest goalscorer in Portugal's history.
Given his legacy and contribution, the possibility of Ronaldo's return remains the centre of attention, especially as Portugal prepares for their upcoming schedule of international matches.

Amid the uncertainty surrounding Ronaldo's future, Vitinha remains a key figure in the Portugal squad.

Portugal are scheduled to play two matches in November, facing Denmark and Wales. Both fixtures are critical priorities for Roberto Martinez's side as they look to maintain their positive run of form.
