The rivalry between the two 2026 Moto3 riders, Veda Ega Pratama and Hakim Danish, will continue at Sepang Circuit, Malaysia. After Veda came out on top at the Pertamina Moto3 Mandalika round, this time Hakim Danish will hold home crowd advantage when they compete at the Malaysian Moto3 event.

The duel between these two young riders has grown even tighter after the Mandalika race results shifted their positions in the provisional championship Standings. Veda crossed the line in 6th place, while Hakim Danish had to settle for 14th position.

With this result, Veda has accumulated 115 points and overtaken Hakim Danish in the standings. The Malaysian rider now sits 8 points behind with a total haul of 107 points.

Veda's points lead is a valuable asset, but this rivalry is far from concluded: there are still multiple rounds remaining on the Moto3 calendar, including races in Australia and Malaysia.

Hakim Danish Holds Home Advantage At Malaysian Moto3

After being outperformed at Mandalika, Hakim Danish has the chance to strike back at the Malaysian round. Sepang Circuit plays to the home rider's favour, as he has far greater familiarity with the track characteristics.

This is the exact reverse of the situation at Mandalika, where Veda knew the circuit far better than his rival, while Danish also had to compete in front of a partisan home crowd supporting his opponent.

Now those dynamics are set to flip at Sepang. Support from the Malaysian spectators and intimate track knowledge can help Danish close the points gap to Veda.

That said, Veda also retains every opportunity to defend his lead, provided he can maintain consistent form and once again finish ahead of his rival.

For Veda, the challenge at Sepang is not just about securing points: he will also be looking to prove that his strong performance at Mandalika can be repeated on a circuit with entirely different characteristics.

For Danish meanwhile, the Malaysian race is his chance to put pressure back on his championship rival.

2026 Moto3 Mid-Table Battle Intensifies

The fight for positions in the 2026 Moto3 standings is not isolated to Veda and Danish. With very narrow margins separating the field, multiple riders are capable of overtaking one another over the remaining rounds.

Valentin Perrone currently sits 6th with 123 points. Directly below him, Veda holds 7th place on 115 points, followed by Matteo Bertelle on 109 points, while Danish occupies 9th place with 107 points.

Only 16 points separate 6th placed Perrone and 9th placed Danish. This means every single race now carries huge weight for all these riders.

A strong finishing position can completely reshuffle the standings, just as a single mistake or points-less finish can drop a rider multiple places. For this reason, consistency will be the defining factor for the remainder of the season.

With just 8 points separating the pair, the head-to-head battle between Veda and Danish looks set to ignite once again in Malaysia.

Australian Moto3 Round Acts As Pre-Sepang Test

Before their showdown in Malaysia, Veda Ega Pratama and Hakim Danish will first contest the Australian Moto3 round, scheduled for 23–25 October.

This race will give both riders the chance to add to their points totals. Results from Australia will also shift the points gap between them, and set the tone for their rivalry when they arrive at Sepang.

Veda will naturally be looking to carry forward the momentum he built with his strong performance at Mandalika. Hakim Danish on the other hand needs a good result to cut the deficit, and put himself back into the thick of the mid-table championship fight.
