Fajar/Fikri Brace For Malaysian Doubles Challenge
Heading into the final, Fajar and Fikri must prepare properly to counter the playing style of Aaron Chia / Soh Wooi Yik. The Malaysian pair is widely recognised as one of the strongest contenders in the Men's Doubles sector.
Muhammad Shohibul Fikri expressed his joy at returning to the final stage alongside Fajar. Even so, he stressed that their campaign is not yet finished, with one final match still left to complete.
"Alhamdulillah, I am truly very happy to make it back to this Denmark Open final with Fajar. This has certainly not been an easy journey, but this is not the end yet. We still have tomorrow to fight for," stated Fikri, as quoted from official PBSI statements.
For Fajar/Fikri, their win over Liang/Wang acts as valuable momentum heading into the deciding match. However, they must still maintain focus and consistent performance to handle the high pressure of the final fixture.
Court Conditions Are A Critical Factor
Fajar Alfian also highlighted the difference in court conditions between the Denmark Open and the 2026 Asian Games held in Nagoya, Japan. According to him, shuttlecock speed in Denmark feels significantly faster due to different air draft conditions.
This situation impacts opponent game patterns, especially when defending and launching counter attacks. Fajar and Fikri had utilised this condition to keep Liang/Wang under pressure throughout their semi-final match.
"We all know at the Asian Games the shuttlecock moved extremely slow, which made them very comfortable playing their defensive counter-attack style. But here the shuttlecock travels quite fast, so they could not defend as comfortably as they did in Nagoya. Fikri and I tried to take full advantage of this opportunity," Fajar explained.
This experience adapting to different court conditions will serve as valuable preparation for the Indonesian pair when drafting strategy for their next match. They will need to maintain shot accuracy while minimising unforced errors when facing the Malaysian pair.
2026 Denmark Open Final Schedule
The 2026 Denmark Open final will be hosted at Arena Fyn, Odense, Denmark. Fajar/Fikri are scheduled to face Aaron Chia / Soh Wooi Yik as the fourth match on the main court.
The entire final match session will commence at 17.00 WIB. Based on fixture order, the Indonesian men's doubles match is estimated to start at approximately 19.30 WIB, though this timing may be adjusted depending on the duration of preceding matches.
Fikri confirmed that both he and Fajar will work to be fully prepared in order to achieve the best possible result in the title match.
"Fajar and I will be even more ready facing this final against the Malaysian pair. We hope we can bring home the best result tomorrow," Fikri said.
Supporter backing along with consistent on-court performance will be the determining factors for Fajar/Fikri against Aaron Chia / Soh Wooi Yik. This match also presents the opportunity for Indonesia's representatives to conclude the 2026 Denmark Open with a championship title.
