Rachel/Febi Fail to Advance to the 2026 French Open Final After Being Defeated by Japan's Representative.

The campaign of Indonesia's Women's Doubles pair Ganda Putri Indonesia, Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum, at the French Open 2026 has been ended at the semi-final stage. They failed to secure a final berth after losing to Japanese representatives Yuki Fukushima/Mayu Matsumoto on Sunday, 25 October 2026.

According to official tournament statistics, Rachel/Febi who competed as the 5th seed were defeated in straight games with scores 18-21, 15-21. The match, held at Arena Grand Paris, France, ran for a total of 47 minutes.

Rachel/Febi actually got off to a convincing start in the first game. The Indonesian pair immediately built a 5-1 lead over Fukushima/Matsumoto, who were the tournament's top seeded pair.

However, the Japanese pair gradually closed the gap before turning the match around. Following a tight exchange, Fukushima/Matsumoto successfully took the lead at 17-16.

Rachel/Febi attempted to hold on to their chance of claiming the opening game. Unfortunately, two consecutive unforced errors caused them to lose momentum. Fukushima/Matsumoto capitalised on this situation to seal the first game with a 21-18 win.

Entering the second game, the match remained fiercely contested once again. Rachel/Febi fought to keep the scores competitive, but the Japanese pair began to find their playing rhythm and took full control of the fixture.

Fukushima/Matsumoto then pulled ahead with seven straight points. This scoring run put them up 13-8, and placed Rachel/Febi under heavy pressure.

The Indonesian pair struggled to contain their opponents' increasingly consistent play. Fukushima/Matsumoto eventually closed out the second game 21-15, confirming their spot in the French Open 2026 final.

For the championship match, Yuki Fukushima/Mayu Matsumoto are scheduled to face Malaysian pair Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan. The Malaysian side progressed to the final after defeating another Japanese pair, Rin Iwanaga/Kie Nakanishi.

This defeat for Rachel/Febi also confirms that Indonesia will have no representatives in the women's doubles final for this Super 750 tier French Open 2026 tournament.
