Not far from the tent area, small stalls serve black coffee, instant noodles, and warm stories from the locals. Sometimes, that alone is enough to make someone linger longer than originally planned.

Behind the tranquil landscape, Bukit Tengtung holds a simple story of hope and sustainability. The area is co-managed by the local community through a social forestry program, an effort to balance tourism with forest conservation. Some plots are planted with fruit trees like avocado, while the rest are kept green so nature can breathe easy.

From this perspective, Bukit Tengtung is not just a destination, but also a new symbol of ecotourism in Banyumas – a place where humans, forest, and sky share space without dominating each other.

Bukit Tengtung is located in Munggangsari, Karangsalam, Baturaden District, about 14 kilometers from Purwokerto. Come early in the morning if you want to chase the mist and the day's first light. And if you have the chance, stay overnight. Above the clouds, sleep feels much more peaceful.
