Kylian Mbappe Becomes a Kidnapping Target, Suspect Allegedly Controlled the Network From Inside Prison.

Kylian Mbappé has been reported to appear on the kidnapping target list of a criminal group in France. Police subsequently arrested a man suspected of involvement in this plot.

According to reports from Le Parisien as cited by Sportskeeda, the suspect named Clement L. has been charged with multiple criminal offences. One of the cases brought against him relates to an alleged kidnapping plot planned between 11 April and 19 August 2026.

Mbappé was confirmed as one of the names on the target list. The Real Madrid forward owns a residence in Paris which he regularly stays at when visiting France.

However, Mbappé is not the only high-profile figure targeted. The group had compiled a list containing up to 26 names, including multiple entrepreneurs and rappers.

Police discovered the list after seizing a mobile phone from Clement L.'s prison cell. This finding forms part of the ongoing investigation into the alleged criminal activities run by the suspect.

Allegedly Coordinating Criminal Operations From Prison

This case has drawn additional scrutiny as Clement L. is suspected of running his criminal network's activities even while serving a prison sentence at Villepinte.

The 18-year-old suspect is believed to have used the Snapchat application to communicate with associates and coordinate his network's operations.

Police have since transferred Clement L. to solitary confinement. He is being held in pre-trial custody after being formally charged at Nanterre on 21 August.

The target list recovered from the suspect's phone is now a critical piece of evidence as police work to uncover the full scope of the network's activities.

The 27-year-old player has already scored four goals across three La Liga appearances. This consistent output confirms Mbappé remains one of Los Blancos' core attacking pillars.
