After beating Norway 2-1, Portugal secured the top position of UEFA Nations League Group A4.

Portugal continued their positive form in the 2026 UEFA Nations League after securing a 2-1 victory over Norway in their Group A4 fixture at Ullevaal Stadion, early morning WIB on Monday, 28 September 2026.

This result marks Portugal's second consecutive win in the group stage. Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates have solidified their position at the top of the Standings with six points.

Joao Felix put Portugal ahead during the first half. Norway later equalised after the half-time break through Erling Haaland.

Portugal then retook the lead through Goncalo Ramos. The forward capitalised on a critical error from Norway's Goalkeeper Orjan Nyland to score the goal that eventually sealed the away side's victory.

Norway had to settle for second place with three points. Meanwhile, Denmark sits in third position after beating Wales 2-0. As stated on UEFA's official website, Wales are yet to collect any points from their opening two matches.

For this fixture, Ronaldo was not named in the Starting XI. Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus opted to start Ramos as the main striker from the opening minute.

Portugal immediately took attacking initiative right from kickoff. Joao Neves created an early headed threat, while Norway responded with their own goalscoring opportunity through Haaland.

The Norwegian striker unleashed a first-time shot directed at the near post, but Diogo Costa read the attempt well and pulled off a save to keep Portugal's goal intact.

Portugal finally broke the deadlock in the 17th minute. Joao Felix received the ball from Pedro Neto just outside the penalty area.

Felix controlled the ball before firing a well-placed shot into the bottom left corner of the goal. Nyland was unable to reach the effort, Putting Portugal 1-0 up.

Norway only found their equaliser early in the second half, with Haaland registering his name on the scoresheet in the 51st minute.

The goal originated from a Martin Odegaard free kick that Diogo Costa failed to handle cleanly. Patrick Berg won the loose rebound with a header, before Haaland converted the chance to level the score at 1-1.

The match dynamic shifted once again just three minutes later.

Nyland made a costly mistake when his attempted clearance was intercepted by Ramos. The Portugal forward carried the ball towards Norway's defensive area before chipping the ball over the stranded goalkeeper.

The ball found the back of the net, restoring Portugal's lead at 2-1.

Portugal had chances to extend their advantage after Rafael Leao came on as a substitute. The winger's effort deflected off Fredrik Aursnes before hitting the crossbar.

Ramos actually found the net for a second time later in the match after latching onto a long ball from Costa, but the goal was ruled out as he was caught in an offside position.

Norway continued to press for an equalising goal late on, but Portugal held on to their lead until the final whistle.

This 2-1 win means Portugal have a perfect record from their first two Nations League matches, and temporarily sit top of Group A4 with six points.
