Marco Bezzecchi delivered an outstanding performance to secure victory at MotoGP Indonesia 2026 held at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara on Sunday. This result also confirmed Aprilia's dominance, as four riders running the manufacturer's machinery locked out the top four finishing positions.

The Aprilia Racing rider completed the 27-lap grand prix with a final time of 40 minutes 46.582 seconds. Bezzecchi crossed the line 4.260 seconds clear of Trackhouse MotoGP rider Raul Fernandez, who settled for second place.

Jorge Martin secured the final podium spot in third, finishing 6.890 seconds behind the race winner. Meanwhile Ai Ogura completed Aprilia's top-four lockout by taking fourth position.

Pedro Acosta finished the race in fifth place, followed by Marc Marquez who had held the lead of the provisional 2026 MotoGP standings ahead of this round.

Bezzecchi Takes Race Lead On Lap 19

The battle at the front of the field remained tight from the very start of the grand prix. Pole sitter Raul Fernandez held the lead immediately after the lights went out, with Bezzecchi staying tight on his rear wheel searching for an opportunity to overtake.

The consistent pressure from the Italian rider finally paid off on lap 19, when Bezzecchi successfully executed a pass on Fernandez to take first position.

Once in the lead, Bezzecchi maintained a steady race pace while steadily extending his gap over his rivals. This consistency carried him across the chequered flag as the winner of MotoGP Indonesia 2026.

Elsewhere, Jorge Martin put in a strong progressive performance throughout the race. Starting from fifth on the grid, Martin fought his way forwards and overtook Marc Marquez on lap 3 to claim third position.

Martin held this position all the way to the finish line. In contrast, Marquez fell back from the leading group and ended the grand prix in sixth place.

Jorge Martin Retakes Lead Of The 2026 MotoGP Championship Standings

The results from MotoGP Mandalika have brought a critical shift in the world title battle. Jorge Martin has returned to the top of the provisional standings with a total of 355 points.

The 2024 MotoGP World Champion now holds a slim 2 point advantage over Marc Marquez, who sits second on 353 points. This narrow gap leaves the world championship fight completely wide open.

Marco Bezzecchi sits third in the standings on 309 points. His Mandalika victory earned him the full 25 points for the round, strengthening his position in the upper end of this season's title battle.

Aprilia Lock Out The Top Four Positions

Bezzecchi's race win was not the only standout achievement for Aprilia at the Indonesian round. The Italian manufacturer recorded a remarkable result with all four riders competing on RS-GP bikes occupying the first four finishing positions.

Bezzecchi led the Aprilia quartet in first place, followed by Raul Fernandez, Jorge Martin and Ai Ogura. This result highlighted Aprilia's competitive advantage in the 2026 MotoGP season, especially at Mandalika Circuit.

Meanwhile, the championship battle between Martin and Marc Marquez is set to remain gripping for all remaining rounds. With just two points separating the pair, every single race result now has the power to reshape the world title fight.
