Portugal National Team captain Cristiano Ronaldo has been handed a 30-day suspension and €255 fine, valued at approximately 4.2 million IDR, by the Football Portugal Federation (FPF). This penalty was imposed after Ronaldo left the national training camp without official authorisation. Despite the sanction, Ronaldo will still be eligible to play during the November 2026 international break.
As cited by Sky Sports on Tuesday, this disciplinary action relates to an incident in Copenhagen late last month. Ronaldo departed the training camp following a disagreement with Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus regarding playing time allocation and his role within the squad.
The FPF's decision has attracted widespread attention as Ronaldo remains one of the most prominent figures in the Portuguese national setup. Despite receiving the penalty, the 41-year-old is confirmed not to forfeit his opportunity to represent Selecao das Quinas in the next international fixtures.

Cristiano Ronaldo Admits Disciplinary Violation
The training camp dispute set in motion the sanctions brought against Ronaldo. The FPF confirmed the Al-Nassr forward was found guilty of breaching team rules by leaving the national team camp without prior permission.
After details of the incident became public, Ronaldo released an official statement apologising to his teammates. He also stated he accepts all consequences for his actions.
Ronaldo Remains Available For Portugal Matches In November
The FPF applied a backdated clause when calculating the term of Ronaldo's Penalty. This means the 30 calendar day suspension is counted from the date the violation occurred, not exclusively from the date the disciplinary ruling was announced.
Under this calculation, Ronaldo's Penalty will expire before Portugal plays their two upcoming international matches in November 2026. Portugal are scheduled to face Denmark on 14 November, followed by Wales on 17 November.
Ronaldo is confirmed not to miss any fixture for the Portuguese national team during the coming international break as a result of this sanction.
This penalty will have no direct impact on Portugal's upcoming Match Schedule. The team captain remains eligible for squad selection and may take the field if named by the coaching staff.
This disciplinary issue marks a new episode in Ronaldo's national team career. Having issued his apology and accepted the sanction, he will now resume regular duties with Al-Nassr while preparing for Portugal's November fixtures.
