Manchester United have once again failed to end their poor run of form, falling to a 0-2 defeat against Chelsea in the ongoing 2026/2027 English League fixture. Playing at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, 31 October 2026, the Red Devils left the ground without any points as two goals from the home side sealed the victory.
This result extends the miserable spell currently being endured by Manchester United. The Red Devils have now gone nine consecutive matches without a win across all competitions, including their last six outings in the Premier League.
Chelsea's two goals were scored by Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer respectively. The three additional points lift The Blues up to 4th place in the provisional Standings, with 16 points collected from 9 matches played.

Manchester United meanwhile remain stuck in 16th position. As recorded on the official Premier League website, they have only amassed 7 points from their opening 9 fixtures.
Manchester United Fail To Capitalise On Chances
The match played out in an open, end-to-end manner right from the first half. Manchester United actually created a number of dangerous opportunities, but poor finishing in the final third meant they were unable to get the better of Chelsea.
United's best chance came in the 18th minute through Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese midfielder received a cross from Bryan Mbeumo during a fast counter attack, before firing a left-footed shot from inside the penalty area.
Unfortunately for United, his effort sailed clear over the Chelsea crossbar.
Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo also created further threats, but Chelsea's defence stood firm to neutralise every attacking move the visitors built.
At the other end, Chelsea repeatedly tried to break down the United backline through Estevao, though the player was unable to find a breakthrough thanks to a sharp performance from United Goalkeeper Senne Lammens.
Manchester United briefly celebrated a goal in the 34th minute, when Matheus Cunha met a delivery from Harry Maguire with a headed finish past the Chelsea keeper.
The lead was short lived however, as the referee ruled the goal out after Cunha was judged to have been in an offside position.
Neither side was able to break the deadlock before the half time whistle, leaving the score locked at 0-0.
Morgan Rogers Opens The Scoring For Chelsea
Chelsea emerged far more clinical in front of goal after the restart. The home side finally took the lead in the 50th minute via Morgan Rogers.
The goal came after a neat combination with Romeo Lavia. Rogers collected a short pass from his teammate before driving forward into the United defensive area.
Once inside the penalty box, the Chelsea player lifted a delicate dinked finish that Senne Lammens could not reach, putting The Blues 1-0 up.
Manchester United's situation deteriorated further when the match reached the 62nd minute.
Lisandro Martinez committed a foul on Wesley Fofana inside the penalty area during a Chelsea corner. The Argentine defender raised his arm and made contact with Fofana's face.
The referee immediately pointed to the penalty spot, and also showed Martinez a second yellow card. This decision left Manchester United having to see out the rest of the match with just 10 men on the pitch.
Cole Palmer Seals Chelsea Victory
Chelsea were handed the chance to extend their lead from the awarded penalty. Entrusted with the spot kick, Cole Palmer converted the opportunity cleanly.
Even though Senne Lammens correctly guessed the direction of the shot and dived to his right, the ball still found the back of the Manchester United net.
This 64th minute goal put Chelsea 2-0 up and piled even more pressure on the visiting side.
The Blues almost added a third in the 71st minute through Estevao, but once again the referee ruled the goal out for offside against the Chelsea player.
Despite being two goals down and a man light, Manchester United refused to give up. They continued to push forward looking for a way back into the match right until the final whistle.
United's best late chance came in stoppage time, when Bryan Mbeumo struck a clean volley. Unfortunately for the Red Devils, the effort clipped the fingertips of Chelsea keeper Mike Penders before crashing against the crossbar.
No further goals were scored before the referee blew for full time. Chelsea wrapped up the 2-0 win to claim all three valuable points, while Manchester United are left with yet another disappointing result in the 2026/2027 English League campaign.
