Muhammad Wibowo is heading to the Gokar World Championship after winning twice at the IAME Series Asia.

Indonesian kart racer Muhammad F A Wibowo is on the path to the global stage. Two victories at the 2026 IAME Series Asia in Malaysia have secured him a spot at the 2026 IAME Warrior Final (IWF), one of the most prestigious karting competitions that gathers drivers from across the world.

Wibowo sealed his qualification after consistent performances at the LYL International Karting Circuit in Selangor, Malaysia. He claimed top honours at the fifth round held in August, before repeating his victory at the sixth round during the third week of September 2026.

These back-to-back wins placed Wibowo second in the 2026 IAME Series Asia overall championship Standings. This result also earned him the 2026 Vice Asian Champion title, even though he missed two entire rounds during the season.

The road to these two victories was far from easy. Wibowo had to fight right until the final lap of each race to hold on to the lead and lock in critical points for the championship standings battle.

Consistency was this Indonesian racer's greatest asset. When the opportunity arrived at the final two rounds, Wibowo converted it into wins alongside his ticket to the world championship event.

Following the conclusion of the IAME Series Asia campaign, Wibowo is not yet able to fully shift all his focus onto the IWF. First, he will compete in the final round of the Italian GR3 Championship, Italy's national karting series which also draws international participants.

This schedule is part of his preparation ahead of the global event. After the race in Italy, Wibowo will compete at the 2026 IWF, which will be held 19-24 October 2026 at Leopart Circuit in Viterbo, Italy.

The IWF is a major fixture on the international karting calendar. The championship is organised by IAME, short for Italian American Motor Engineering, a renowned manufacturer of kart engines and components.

For young drivers, the IWF is about far more than just competing for a title. This competition also serves as one of the gateways to progress into higher tiers of Motorsport.

Multiple drivers who raced at the IWF have gone on to build careers in top international Car Racing series. One notable example is 16-year-old female racer Luna Fluxa, who is currently part of the Mercedes-AMG Junior Driver Programme and competes in Formula 4.

Fluxa previously finished inside the top 10 at the 2019 IWF. Her career path demonstrates how karting competitions form a critical stepping stone on the long journey to international professional motor racing levels.

Now, Wibowo has the chance to write his own story. After proving his speed and consistency at the IAME Series Asia, his next challenge will be taking on global competition in Viterbo.

His two wins in Malaysia have opened the door. In Italy, Wibowo will face a far greater test, along with the opportunity to carry Indonesia's name onto the world stage at the 2026 IAME Warrior Final karting world championship.
