Marc Marquez holds high confidence for the 2026 Aragon MotoGP, with 7 career victories at this circuit serving as his strong foundation going into the championship round.

Jakarta - Marc Marquez enters the 2026 Aragon MotoGP with high confidence. The Ducati Lenovo rider has solid grounds for optimism, as MotorLand Aragon Circuit is one of the tracks that best suits his racing style.

The 13th round of the 2026 MotoGP championship will take place in Alcañiz, Spain on 28-30 August. Marquez arrives with exceptional momentum, having already collected seven premier class victories at Aragon.

With this track record, Aragon ranks as one of Marquez's favourite venues. He even claimed four consecutive wins here in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

"I have achieved a lot of success at Aragon in the past, especially in recent years with Ducati," stated Marc Marquez, quoted from Motosan on Thursday.

This circuit is also assessed to match both the Ducati bike characteristics and Marquez's ability to push the motorcycle to its limits.

"This is a track that brings out the very best in me and our bike," he added.

Targeting Front Running Positions

Marquez's confidence has grown further after receiving additional recovery time. Following a physically demanding race weekend at Silverstone, he has confirmed his physical condition is now significantly improved.

"Compared to how I performed at Silverstone, and after these two extra weeks of recovery, I am confident we will be much closer to the front group," said Marquez.

Rather than only chasing a podium finish, Marquez has set a target to compete at the very front throughout the entire weekend.

"We can fight for top positions both in the Sprint race and Sunday's main Grand Prix," he continued.

This target carries extra weight after Marquez's disappointing result at the British MotoGP round. At Silverstone, he only finished seventh in the main race, after taking ninth place in the prior Sprint Race.

Opportunity To Close The Gap To Jorge Martin

Besides chasing victory, the 2026 Aragon MotoGP also presents Marquez with a chance to reduce the deficit to his championship rivals.

Currently, the number 93 rider sits fourth in the standings with 200 points.

Championship leader Jorge Martin of Aprilia Racing holds 240 points, meaning Marquez currently trails the temporary standings leader by 40 points.

A win, or at minimum top placings in both the Sprint and main race, will deliver critical points for Marquez as he attempts to re-enter genuine title contention.

Aragon Is Marquez Territory

Marquez's dominance at Aragon is not just distant history. He holds the all-time record for the most premier class wins at this circuit, with seven total victories. Four of these came during his unbroken 2016-2019 winning streak.

Marquez has also won the Aragon MotoGP for the last two consecutive seasons. His 2024 victory was particularly meaningful, as it ended his over 1000-day wait to return to the very top step of the podium. He then repeated the win again in 2025.

It comes as no surprise that Marquez is once again one of the clear favourites for this year's Aragon round. The anti-clockwise circuit layout allows Marquez to fully maximise his signature riding style.

However, his rivals will not allow Marquez to dominate unchallenged. Jorge Martin and the entire Aprilia squad have everything at stake in the championship battle.

Friday Kicks Off The Fight For Track Position

On-track action for the 2026 Aragon MotoGP will begin on Friday with the FP1 and Practice sessions.

The Practice session carries major significance, as its results determine which 10 riders automatically qualify directly for Q2. For this reason, Marquez must set fast pace right from the first day, to avoid being forced into the longer qualifying route on Saturday.

With improved physical fitness, seven career wins at the track, and a circuit layout perfectly suited to his riding style, Marquez holds every advantage to mount an aggressive charge this weekend.
