Jay Idzes, Kevin Diks, and Calvin Verdonk are ready to represent the Indonesia National Football Team at the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup.

Jakarta - The Indonesia National Team has received positive news ahead of the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup. Three Europe-based players: Jay Idzes, Kevin Diks, and Calvin Verdonk have been confirmed ready to join the Garuda squad before the tournament commences.

This information was announced by Noor Korompot, Special Staff of the Ministry of Law of the Republic of Indonesia. Previously, Korompot had also revealed preliminary plans for Jay Idzes to arrive in Jakarta approximately one week prior to the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup.

The tournament is scheduled to run from 24 September to 3 October 2026. If all plans proceed accordingly, these overseas players will begin linking up with the national team around mid-September.

The confirmed availability of these three players is welcome news for head coach John Herdman. Indonesia is in need of its strongest possible squad following underwhelming results at the 2026 ASEAN Championship.

Lille and Borussia Mönchengladbach Grant Player Release

Calvin Verdonk and Kevin Diks have both obtained official clearance from their respective clubs to represent Indonesia at this tournament.

Calvin plays for LOSC Lille, while Kevin Diks is contracted to Borussia Mönchengladbach. Both players are expected to travel to Jakarta roughly one week before the opening fixture.

"It is reported Calvin Verdonk will depart for Jakarta imminently ahead of the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup kickoff," Noor Korompot wrote via an Instagram post.

Indonesia has been drawn into Premier Division Group A, alongside Bangladesh, Singapore and Malaysia.

The arrival of Verdonk and Diks will significantly boost Indonesia's preparations, as both will be eligible to attend the full pre-tournament training camp.

Kevin Diks Confirmed Ready For Jakarta Arrival

Kevin Diks has formally confirmed his availability for the national team. According to Noor Korompot, the Garuda defender will land in Jakarta one week prior to the tournament start date.

"Kevin Diks has officially stated he will fly to Jakarta to join the Indonesia squad for the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup, one week before this inaugural tournament edition runs 24 September to 3 October 2026," Korompot stated.

All overseas based players will be able to complete the full integrated national team training programme before official matches begin.

"As projected, our overseas players will report to the Jakarta national training camp approximately one week before the first match," he added.

Jay Idzes Scheduled To Arrive One Week Before Tournament

Noor Korompot previously confirmed Jay Idzes is also scheduled to arrive in Jakarta one week before the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup begins.

Idzes' presence is considered critical for Indonesia, as the centre back is established as a core leader of the team's defensive line.

With Idzes, Diks and Verdonk all available, Herdman will have greatly increased selection and tactical flexibility to build his defensive unit and adjust formations.

Tournament Aligns With Official FIFA Matchday Window

A key reason for optimism surrounding Indonesia's campaign is that the entire 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup falls within the official FIFA international match window.
