Jakarta - Excitement for the upcoming FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 is already building among the Indonesian public. This hype for the first ever FIFA-sanctioned tournament is being cultivated through the Roll To Glory FIFA ASEAN Cup Family Parade, held alongside Jakarta's Car Free Day (CFD) on Sunday, 13 September 2026.

The parade commenced at Gate 6 of the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Complex and proceeded towards the main stage at the HI Roundabout area. This event is part of the lead-up series for the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026, serving as a key milestone to introduce the tournament to the public ahead of its official kick-off.

The Roll To Glory FIFA ASEAN Cup Family Parade brought together tournament organisers, Indonesian national team legends, sports communities, and members of the public attending Jakarta's weekly Car Free Day.

The official FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 trophy and giant replica match ball were also unveiled to the public during this parade. The appearance of both items further amplified the pre-tournament atmosphere for the competition that will feature national teams from across Southeast Asia plus invited guest nations.

Minister of Youth and Sports as well as PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir stated that Indonesia is honoured and enthusiastic to be trusted as host for the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026.

"Following our successful hosting of the FIFA U-17 World Cup previously, Indonesia has once again been given the opportunity to organise the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026, which will run from 25 September to 5 October," Erick stated.

Erick explained that this parade acts as a moment to build public excitement while also demonstrating Indonesia's readiness as tournament host. He also called for continued public support throughout the entire duration of the competition.

FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 Trophy Officially Unveiled In Jakarta

Prior to appearing at the Roll To Glory parade, the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 trophy was first displayed to the public during the 2026 Indonesia Sports Summit (ISS) held at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JCC).

The trophy was flown directly to Jakarta by FIFA from its headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, arriving on Thursday 10 September. It was then exhibited at the FIFA booth within the ISS 2026 venue.

This public showing forms part of the ongoing outreach campaign to introduce the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 to the Indonesian public. Following the ISS display, the trophy was featured in the Jakarta parade, bringing the tournament atmosphere even closer to local communities.

14 Nations Will Compete In The FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026

As confirmed by FIFA, this inaugural edition of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 will be co-hosted by Indonesia and Hong Kong, China, running from 24 September to 5 October 2026.

A total of 14 teams will participate: all 11 ASEAN member nations, plus three invited guest teams. The tournament will be split into two divisions, with Indonesia hosting Division 1 matches, while Hong Kong, China will host Division 2 fixtures.

Eight nations will compete in the Indonesia-hosted Division 1. Group A consists of Indonesia, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Singapore, while Group B features Vietnam, Pakistan, Thailand and the Philippines.

FIFA will implement a single round-robin format for the group stage, where every team plays each opponent once. The winner of each group will advance directly to the Division 1 final, while the two group runners-up will face off in the third place play-off match.

Indonesian National Team Fixtures for FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026

As Division 1 host and a competing nation, the Indonesian National Team will play all of their Group A matches at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) in Jakarta.

The Garuda squad will open their campaign on Friday 25 September 2026 against Singapore, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time).

This will be followed by a match against Malaysia on Monday 28 September at 19:30 WIB. Indonesia will conclude their Group A fixtures against Bangladesh on Thursday 1 October, also with a 19:30 WIB kick-off.

Results from these three matches will determine Indonesia's final standing in Group A. Should they finish top of the group, Indonesia will qualify for the Division 1 Final, scheduled to be held at SUGBK on 5 October at 20:00 WIB. The third place play-off will be held earlier that same day, at 16:00 WIB.

Alongside preparations for the national team squad, host country operational readiness is also being prioritised. Erick Thohir confirmed that Indonesia will ensure full comfort and safety for all participating teams and visiting supporters.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung also stated that security, spectator comfort, and smooth mobility for all participants and attendees will be Jakarta's top priorities throughout the tournament period.

For Indonesia, the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 presents two simultaneous goals: delivering a successful tournament as host, and achieving competitive results with the national team.
