Marc Marquez arrives at MotoGP Indonesia 2026 with high confidence after securing a perfect result at the Japanese Grand Prix.
The Ducati Lenovo rider successfully claimed victory in both the sprint race and the main Grand Prix event in Japan. This result serves as crucial preparation ahead of the next championship round at Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, this Sunday.
Despite carrying positive form, Marc remains aware that the characteristics of Mandalika Circuit are not an easy track for him. Ever since MotoGP Indonesia returned to the calendar in 2022, the number 93 rider has never once managed to finish a main race at Mandalika.

There Are No Clear Favourite Riders In This Season's MotoGP World Championship Title Race.
For this reason, Marc is still waiting to see how competitive the Ducati bike can perform on the 4.3 kilometre circuit.
"Right now let's just see how my bike performs in Indonesia. But overall, ever since the race in Aragón, I have felt extremely comfortable with my bike's condition," stated Marc Marquez, quoted from the official Ducati Lenovo page on Monday.
Victory in Japan proved that Marc and Ducati are currently on excellent momentum. During that race, he managed to finish ahead of both Aprilia Racing riders Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi.
Alongside taking the main race win, Marc also secured the sprint race victory. In total, he collected 37 championship points over the Japanese Grand Prix weekend.
This result carries even greater weight given the tight ongoing battle for the MotoGP World Championship title.
"I am really happy with these 37 points we got this weekend, that was our main target. This was a very difficult race, especially the opening laps behind Jorge (Martín)," Marc commented on his performance at the Japanese GP.
His win in Japan also adds to Marc's impressive record at the Misano Circuit. The Spanish rider now holds the record for the most race victories at the track, with four wins to his name.
Meanwhile, the battle in the MotoGP Standings continues to heat up. Marc currently sits in second place with 331 points.
He is just two points behind Jorge Martin, who leads the provisional championship Standings. This situation means every remaining round will be critically important for Marc as he fights to defend his world championship title.
Riding high on the positive momentum from Japan, Marc now has the chance to turn around his poor record at Mandalika. Nevertheless, the challenge remains significant: the seven-time world champion is yet to achieve his desired results at the Mandalika Circuit so far.
