El Clasico Result: Kylian Mbappe Scores a Brace, Real Madrid Defeat Barcelona at Camp Nou

Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe has once again proven his clinical finishing quality on the biggest stage. The French forward's two goals delivered Real Madrid's Victory with a 2-1 result over Barcelona in the Matchweek 10 2026/2027 La Liga El Clasico hosted at Camp Nou on Monday.

The fixture remained fiercely contested right until the dying minutes. Real Madrid surrendered their lead when Raphinha equalised for Barcelona in the 62nd minute. However, Mbappe secured all three points for Los Blancos with his match-winning strike just two minutes before regular time concluded.

This victory acts as critical momentum for Real Madrid in the top of the table La Liga title race. The added three points lifts them to 3rd position in the provisional Standings on 24 points, closing the gap to league leading Barcelona down to just three points.

Real Madrid Open The Scoring Through Mbappe

Both sides played with aggressive high intensity straight from kick-off. Barcelona attempted to use the home Camp Nou crowd support to pin back Real Madrid's defence, while Real Madrid operated on rapid counter attacking transitions to find gaps.

Real Madrid's first clear chance fell to Arda Guler, whose powerful driven shot was parried away by Barcelona's Goalkeeper.

Barcelona produced a response in the 22nd minute. Real Madrid's backline failed to fully clear Pedri's attacking run, leaving a loose ball for Raphinha who could only lift his effort over the crossbar.

The hosts created another opening through Anthony Gordon. Running onto a through ball played by Raphinha, Gordon fired towards the near post only for Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to produce a sharp save.

Just as Barcelona began increasing their attacking pressure, Real Madrid stole the lead in the 41st minute. A low cross from Yan Diomande into the penalty area was only half cleared by Gerard Martin. The ball deflected off Mbappe, changing trajectory before crossing the Barcelona goal line.

This goal put Real Madrid 1-0 ahead, and extended Mbappe's already dominant record against Barcelona. Prior to this fixture, he had already scored 12 goals across 11 previous meetings against Real Madrid's arch rivals.

This lead remained unbroken going into the half time interval.

Raphinha Equalises, Mbappe Settles The Clasico

Barcelona searched for ways to unlock Real Madrid's defence during the second half. Their long awaited equaliser finally arrived in the 62nd minute. Raphinha struck a hard low shot from inside the penalty box. Lunin managed a touch on the ball, but could not generate enough force to stop it from crossing the goal line.

The 1-1 scoreline raised the intensity even higher, as both sides now held genuine chances to take full points. Barcelona pushed to ride their momentum and grab a second go-ahead goal in front of their home supporters.

Lamine Yamal attempted a long range effort from outside the penalty area, but his strike drifted wide of the target.

Real Madrid did not sit back defensively. Los Blancos continued probing for weaknesses in Barcelona's backline, particularly as the home side committed more players forward in attack.

Just when the match appeared set to end in a draw, Mbappe produced the decisive moment in the 88th minute. Running onto Eduardo Camavinga's pass that beat Pau Cubarsi inside the penalty area, Mbappe converted cleanly to put Real Madrid 2-1 ahead.

This strike became Mbappe's 14th career goal against Barcelona. His match double also confirmed him as the defining figure behind Real Madrid's win in the first El Clasico of the season.

Barcelona threw everything forward searching for a late equaliser in the remaining match time, but the hosts failed to find another goal before the final whistle sounded.
