Persija Jakarta and Persebaya Surabaya both secured three points in the latest fixtures of the BRI Super League 2026/2027. Persija came from behind to beat Persik Kediri 2-1 at Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), while Persebaya Surabaya defeated Madura United 3-1 at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium.
These two victories were earned through very different battles. Persija had to overturn an early deficit, while Persebaya only sealed their win during injury time after Madura United had managed to equalise.
Persija solidified their position at the top of the provisional standings with 18 points. Meanwhile, Persebaya climbed to 7th place with 12 points collected from seven matches.

Persija Comeback: Two Goals In Three Minutes Sink Persik
Persik Kediri's aggressive play initially troubled Persija Jakarta. The away side applied high pressing right from kickoff, and took the lead just 10 minutes into the match.
Imanol Garcia scored Persik's opening goal with a headed finish, converting a cross from Ernesto Gomez. This goal forced Persija to work far harder to find their rhythm and break down the Macan Putih defence.
The home side attempted to respond with combination passing and individual runs. In the 34th minute, Arylansyah Abdulmanan broke into the penalty box, but his cross was successfully cleared by Persik defenders.
Persija created two clear chances shortly before half time. In the 43rd minute, Arylansyah's left-footed shot after receiving a pass from Witan Sulaeman was blocked by the opposition defence.
Two minutes later, Alexander Jeremejeff capitalised on a mistake from Persik's backline, but his strike only hit the crossbar. Persik headed into the half time break holding a 1-0 lead.
Entering the second half, Persija head coach Shin Tae-yong made substitutions, bringing on Rizky Ridho and Kwon Chang-hoon. These changes helped Macan Kemayoran gain greater control of the game while neutralising Persik's counter attacks.
In the 64th minute, Denis Kolinger equalised with a back-post header, connecting with a free kick delivery from Rayhan Hannan.
Just two minutes later, Persija turned the game around. From a dead ball set-piece taken by Kwon Chang-hoon, Kolinger laid off a pass to Rizky Ridho. The Indonesia National Team defender struck the ball first time, beating goalkeeper Husna Al Malik.
Persik pushed to salvage a result in the final 10 minutes. Drama unfolded when Ivan Mamut found the net for what appeared to be Persija's third goal, however the strike was disallowed after VAR review confirmed a foul had been committed just outside the penalty area in the build-up.
Persik received one final chance from a late free kick, but failed to convert the equaliser. Persija held on for the 2-1 victory, retaining their position at the top of the league table.

Over in Surabaya, Persebaya also endured a gruelling contest before sealing their 3-1 win against Madura United. Heavy rain falling over Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium made ball control difficult for both sides throughout the match.
Persebaya opened the scoring in the 22nd minute through Miguel Pereira. His right-footed shot curled into the top left corner, beating Madura United goalkeeper Angga Saputro to put the home side 1-0 up.
Persebaya continued to threaten after the restart, with headed attempts from Gledson and Rivera early in the second half, but neither effort changed the scoreline.
The match shifted dramatically in the 65th minute. Madura United were reduced to 10 men after Paulo Sitanggang was shown a straight red card for a foul on Catur Pamungkas, who was subsequently substituted off due to injury from the challenge.
Despite playing a man down, Madura United found an equaliser just five minutes later. Gali Freitas scored directly from a free kick in the 70th minute, levelling the score at 1-1.
Persebaya created multiple chances in response, but were unable to find a winner as regular time expired and the match entered stoppage time.
Persebaya were awarded a penalty after Miguel Pereira was fouled inside the box. Yuran Fernandes stepped up and successfully converted the spot kick in the 90+1st minute, putting the home side back ahead 2-1.
They did not stop there. Five minutes later, Yan Mabella finished off a counter attack after receiving a pass from Jefferson in the 90+6th minute, confirming the final 3-1 victory for Persebaya.
