indonesiatravelsport.com - Nicolo Bulega has finally secured his ticket to the MotoGP stage. The Italian rider will join the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team starting the 2027 season, making his premier class debut with the Tavullia-based squad.

Bulega's move marks a new chapter in his professional career. Currently competing in WorldSBK, the 26-year-old rider will depart the production motorcycle racing championship to chase his long-held MotoGP dream.

"Moving up to MotoGP is a dream come true, especially as I will make my debut with Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team. I chose this team because I have always been connected to them. I was part of the VR46 Academy when I was young, so I know every person here very well," Bulega stated on the official MotoGP website.

Bulega's ties with VR46 were formed long ago. Having joined the VR46 Riders Academy during his junior career, his transfer to the team founded by MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi carries deeply personal context.

Bulega acknowledged that his path to MotoGP was not a straightforward one. After initially pursuing a direct route to the premier class, he instead chose to build his career through the WorldSBK pathway, where he found major success.

"On top of that, everyone at this team is extremely professional. When I first started racing, all I dreamed of was reaching MotoGP. Then for many reasons, my career took a different turn. I moved to WorldSBK, and there I focused on building a successful career," he explained.

Bulega began his international racing run in WorldSSP with Ducati in 2022. It only took him one full season to claim the WorldSSP championship title in 2023.

That title opened the door to WorldSBK for 2024, where he immediately proved he could compete at the top level. In his debut WorldSBK season, Bulega finished the overall championship as runner-up.

Bulega's performance grew even more dominant during the 2026 WorldSBK season. He currently leads the standings with an overwhelming record: 26 wins from 27 completed rounds.

Now an entirely new challenge awaits. MotoGP will be a completely different arena for Bulega. He will need to adapt to prototype motorcycle handling, elite level rider competition, and the intense demands of premier class motorsport.

Bulega will not arrive alone at Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team. The squad's 2027 MotoGP line-up is now fully confirmed, following the earlier signing of Spanish rider Fermin Aldeguer.

Bulega and Aldeguer will form VR46's full primary rider roster for the 2027 season. While both athletes come from different career backgrounds, they will each be core parts of the team project closely tied to Valentino Rossi.

For Bulega, this opportunity is the answer to his childhood dream. After building his reputation across WorldSSP and WorldSBK, he now has the chance to prove himself at the absolute highest level of global motorcycle racing.
