Como 1907 once again took centre stage in the ongoing 2026/2027 UEFA Champions League after dismantling Manchester United with a dominant 4-1 scoreline at the Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium, Como on Wednesday evening WIB. Como's star player Nico Paz scored two goals and provided one assist to deliver this impressive home victory.
This result delivered a heavy blow for Manchester United, who remain plagued by inconsistent form. In contrast, Como showcased sharp attacking quality and the ability to exploit the Red Devils' defensive flaws to secure three critical league phase points.
As published on UEFA's official website, Paz broke the deadlock for Como just two minutes after kickoff. The Argentine attacking midfielder netted his second goal in the 57th minute, while his earlier assist allowed Anastios Douvikas to extend the home side's lead.

Douvikas found the net in the 49th minute, before Jacobo Ramon rounded off Como's victory with a 76th minute strike. Manchester United could only register a single reply through Joshua Zirkzee during second half stoppage time, specifically at the 90+1 mark.
Nico Paz Punishes Manchester United
Como required almost no time to demonstrate their clinical edge. Just two minutes into the fixture, Paz received a pass from Lucas Da Cunha right on the edge of Manchester United's penalty area.
The Argentine midfielder controlled the ball before unleashing a curling shot towards goal. Manchester United Goalkeeper Senne Lammens was unable to reach the strike, putting Como 1-0 ahead.
This early goal only boosted the home side's confidence as they built structured attacking sequences. Manchester United attempted to respond, but the absence of multiple first team players left Michael Carrick's squad unable to match Como's tempo.
Carrick travelled to Como missing a total of nine players through injury and suspension, including Lisandro Martinez and Marcus Rashford. The visitors did receive one positive however, with Matthijs de Ligt returning to the starting lineup after more than eight months sidelined through injury.
Even De Ligt's return failed to shore up the Red Devils' fragile defence however, as Como continued to carve out chances and exploit gaps in the visiting backline.
Douvikas Extends Como's Advantage
Como grew even more comfortable controlling play after the half time break. The hosts doubled their lead in the 49th minute, as Anastios Douvikas converted a perfectly weighted through ball from Paz.
Douvikas made a diagonal run that De Ligt failed to track, before finishing the opportunity cleanly to put Como 2-0 up and leave Manchester United facing an increasingly uphill battle.
Eight minutes later, Paz dispossessed Baleba on the left side of Manchester United's defence, advanced into a dangerous position and fired another well placed curled shot.
Lammens was once again beaten by the young Como playmaker, as the hosts extended their advantage to 3-0 in the 57th minute.
Jacobo Ramon Completes The Rout, United Grab A Late Consolation
Manchester United had no answer to stem Como's constant attacking pressure. In the 76th minute, Jacobo Ramon scored Como's fourth goal of the night.
Ramon met Kaiki Bruno's cross with a firm header that Lammens could not keep out, extending the lead to 4-0 and confirming Como's total dominance in front of their home supporters.
Manchester United finally grabbed a consolation goal at 90+1 minutes, as Joshua Zirkzee converted Amad Diallo's cross to reduce the deficit to 1-4.
This late strike did nothing to alter the final outcome of the match. Como closed out the fixture with a comprehensive victory, having looked far sharper and more clinical for the full duration of the game.
Contrasting Fortunes For Como And Manchester United
This victory lifts Como to 10th position in the provisional 2026/2027 Champions League league phase Standings with six total points, giving the Italian club valuable momentum as they compete for progression to the next tournament stage.
In stark contrast, Manchester United face mounting pressure after yet another failure to claim three points. This defeat in Como extends the Red Devils' winless run across all competitions to seven matches, with their only victory this campaign remaining the 4-0 opening Champions League win against Sabah FK back on 11 September.
Manchester United currently sit 23rd in the provisional standings with three points from three matches played. Alongside dropping points, conceding four goals leaves Carrick with a major task to fix his side's defensive weaknesses.
