Como 1907 pulled off a massive upset in the 2026/2027 Champions League. The side managed by Cesc Fabregas demolished Lens 9-1 on the fourth matchday of the league phase, held at Bollaert-Delelis Stadium in the early hours of WIB on Thursday, 5 November 2026.
This result stands as one of the most striking outcomes in the history of Europe's elite club competition. Como did not only return home with three full points, but also equalled the record for the largest winning margin in Champions League history.
Anastasios Douvikas was the most outstanding player of this fixture. The Greek striker scored three goals and provided one assist for Nico Paz's goal.

Not wanting Como to get trapped in euphoria, Cesc Fabregas is targeting victories in the Champions League.
Douvikas opened Como's lead in the 7th minute. He connected with Maximo Perrone's headed flick from a corner situation to put the visiting side 1-0 ahead.
Como continued to pile pressure on Lens' defence. In the 32nd minute, Douvikas found the net once again after finishing off an attacking move built through combination passes from the backline.
Eight minutes later, Nico Paz extended the advantage to 3-0. The Argentine midfielder converted Douvikas' pass, closing out the first half with Como holding a comfortable lead.
Como's dominance carried on after the half-time break. Lucas da Cunha scored the fourth goal in the 47th minute, exchanging a quick one-two with Paz before slotting home his finish right in front of goal.
Marc-Oliver Kempf added another goal with a headed finish. Douvikas completed his hat-trick in the 57th minute after receiving a pass from Paz, stretching Como's lead to 6-0.
Cesc Fabregas also received key contributions from his substitute players. Just one minute after entering the pitch, Mattia Liberali scored Como's seventh goal in the 62nd minute with an outside-of-the-foot strike.
Lens managed a consolation goal through Ruben Aguilar in the 65th minute. He capitalised on a corner situation and fired a volley to bring the score to 1-7.
This single goal did not shift the direction of the match. Martin Baturina extended the gap further in the 69th minute, before Matteo Papaccioli closed out Como's goal feast during stoppage time.
With this result, Como have collected nine points from four matches and sit 4th in the provisional league phase Standings. They have recorded three wins so far, including victories over RB Leipzig and Manchester United.
Como's attacking productivity has also become a major talking point. According to UEFA data released after matchday four, the Italian club have scored 19 goals, placing them second on the tournament's top scoring list - only behind Paris Saint-Germain who have netted 20 times.
Douvikas currently leads the provisional goalscoring chart with six goals, while Nico Paz sits at the very top of the assist rankings with five goal-creating passes.
Como's 19-goal tally across their first four matches also matches the 1976 record set by Queens Park Rangers, for the most goals scored by any club in their first four fixtures of Europe's premier club competition.
This victory over Lens proves that Como are not just making up the numbers on their debut Champions League campaign. Fabregas has his side playing aggressive, high-output Football, while also opening up real opportunities to compete for top positions in the league phase.
